What happens now? Simply crank out the solar panels and wind turbines and you're good to go. I did notice that Harrah's northern california sent out an announcement that they would be in full operation during the pg&e outage. Diesel generators?

Aa average home solar system cannot produce enough energy to charge an electric car battery

Does this mean all those electric car owners won’t be able to recharge their batteries and escape the fires?

It is a horrific pity if you have a blackout, wildfire, and a destroyed Tesla that couldn’t move.. Karma is a female dog in heat. Actually it would be more entertaining to see all those krispy Priuses... Prius drivers are lousy.

in some countries with unreliable electric power, you can get a bike hooked up with a generator and, somehow, to your tv and then you pedal enough to make it watchable. All the electric car owners need to do is hook up a bike to their car battery and start pedaling. And they will feel so virtuous when they do it!

I remember when Hurricane Michael hit, it not only knocked out all the power, it also closed all the gas stations.

Funny....I didn’t think of that!
I have a friend in the Bay Area with a Nissan Leaf.
He needs to charge it every night for any trip over 30 miles.

This means that every electric car will be plugged in durning the times there will be electricity causing a unnatural high demand on the system. Add all the cell phones and drills and stuff.
Good luck

Simple solution; put a gas powered generator in the trunk of the electric car.

"Whatever happened to those algae-powered cars we were supposed to have by now?" Too bad no one's working on using swamp gas and pure B/S to generate power. There's an over abundance of that on our planet.

Hmmm, I own a Prius. Where should I go to surrender my driver's license? And how will I buy booze for the 2020 Trump re-election party without it?
