Ronan Farrow: There's a 'paper trail' of 'multiple secret settlements' with women at NBC News

Author Ronan Farrow in an interview Friday with ABC News said he has seen a paper trail of documents that show "multiple secret settlements and non-disclosures" were struck by NBC News with women making sexual misconduct allegations against former "Today" anchor Matt Lauer.

Farrow's new book, "Catch and Kill," documents the Lauer case and has already made news by reporting on new allegations from one NBC News employee who alleges the former "Today" anchor raped her in a hotel room at the Sochi Olympics. Lauer has firmly denied the allegations, saying it was a consensual affair.

The book is already at No. 1 on Amazon's best-seller list. Farrow has said in interviews that it describes a troubled culture at NBC.

"What we show in this book, with a paper trail, with documents, was that there were multiple secret settlements and non-disclosures being struck with women at NBC News," Farrow told "Good Morning America" on Friday.

NBC News President Andy Lack said in a memo to staff this week that after Lauer's firing, the network's legal team did "an exhaustive investigation" of records and interviews of current and former staff.

"They uncovered no claims or settlements associated with allegations of inappropriate conduct by Lauer before he was fired," Lack wrote. "Only following his termination did NBCU reach agreements with two women who had come forward for the very first time, and those women have always been free to share their stories about Lauer with anyone they choose."

I want the list of settlements paid with OUR Tax Dollars for claims against members of Congress. That is the one that really matters.

No matter how liberal Ronan is I do applaud his tenacity and fearlessness. Maybe he got it from Frank. Certainly not Woody

What about all the secret settlements in Congress that we taxpayers had to pay for?

I am also interested to read what he says about the Harvey Weinstein coverup. Reportedly, Linda Fairstein, prosecutor turned mystery writer, covered up for Weinstein while she supposedly was fighting for sexual assault victims.

Mystery Writers of America withdrew some award for Fairstein, though it seemed it wasn't related to her support of Weistein.

The problem is via the Constitution, Congress has the last word on the behavior and punishment of its members.

So we will have that list of settlements when Congress says its OK!

Not going to happen!

Only Solution!
Terms limits: A decade in DC is enough!

1. Two consecutive terms (12 years) in the Senate then go home for 1 term (6 years) before you can return.
2. Five consecutive terms (10 years) in the House then go home for 2 (4 years) or 3 (6 years) terms. (My preference is 6 years!)

Above all go home Congresscritter!
Go live under the laws you made!
Go back to your state or congressional district! If you have to be a professional politician go run for governor, state legislature, mayor, county commissioner, may be just maybe get a private sector job ! Hanging around the Beltway in think tank or political PR\advisory jobs don’t count ! GO HOME!

I don't find Matt Lauer to be a sympathetic figure, but this Brooke Nevins (?) character is a joke. She claims she went to Lauer’s hotel room after having had six shots of vodka, he anally raped her, and she then had a six months-long affair with Lauer “to convince herself she hadn't been raped”. And NBC has decreed that everyone who works there must stand by Nevins. Are we in the Twilight Zone?

NBC seems to be a small version of the deep state. I’ll never see one of its male members without wondering if his private male member is brown and stinky.

This, along with other things happening, does remind one of the Twilight Zone.

He said. She said.

That’s the way it used to be.
A tie with no way to break the tie.

But the Libs came up with a solution to that dilemma: ALWAYS BELIEVE THE WOMAN.

So I fully expect that the new rule will be applied in this case. OTOH, I’m not going to hold my breath waiting see if it is.
