Can Congress spell “veto”? V-E-T-O?

We are not the world’s policeman. We cannot keep fighting endless wars. Get the hell out of the middle east all together.

Congress is set for a showdown over gas pipelines for congressional children’s wealth. I suppose it could be a coincidence that Ukraine is how close to Syria? European pipelines. I was initially against leaving. It is in my nature to stay and win. This is Obama’s war and it’s all about the pipelines.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! That we will deal with sternly when we get back from our two week vacay. /s

What a bunch of drips.

Yeah, getting into a war with Turkey is just what I want us to do. Sacrifice some more of our sons in a crucible that never cools off.

Mark my words, we will screw up and be energy dependent on the region again.

They way he did does seem a little reckless. It amazes me he would risk antagonizing the GOP whose support is tepid at best at a time when he needs their support the most

Congress has the power to declare war and require military action.

They’ve mostly abandoned it in the last 70 years, but now simply because the Democrats hate Trump, want to make removing a few hundred troops from Syria an issue.

If Congress wants to declare war in Syria, they should do so. Trump should even encourage them to try it. Go for it Nancy! See what happens!

General Jack Keane

Neocon Keane's opinion is bought and paid for

Begging your pardon, he has been on the eve of impeachment since he took office.

1,000 troops are a speed bump to Turkey unless you support them massively with all manner of air power. Unless our aim is to decisively defeat and occupy Turkey it is best left alone. We don’t need another occupation and sacrifice of our sons. If you had one in the fight you might see things differently. If you had lost one in a useless fight you certainly would.

The ME needs to be allowed to fight their own fights and destroy themselves as they have been bent on doing for more than a thousand years. As far as I am concerned the Jews picked a bad neighborhood.

that should be Trump’s response....”Vote on the matter then and officially authorize it!”

According to news reports, we intend to continue to ship war material to the Kurds so I fail to see any financial disadvantage to either general Keane or to General Dynamics in withdrawing 1000 advisors from the area.

The General's record is entirely laudable and without blemish.

The president should ask Nan to hold a vote to see who wants to deploy US forces in the middle east.
They would STFU real quick.

You have way too much common sense.

You must make it much more complicated than this. You have to consider all the angles, political implications and nuance. How it is in the national interest I have no idea but people are dying so we should send some to die too. Only by that measure can you achieve true consensus. /s

A reason to remove our personnel: We don’t trust our allies.

he has been on the eve of impeachment since he took office.

Which I do not apprehend as an argument for the prudence of gratuitously pissing off the very people who can impeach him.

Says a neocon. As for me, Keane's connection to Kimberly Kagan, and the Kagan family, is the only indicator I need to reject him and his drum beat for war outright.
