On Oct 4, Sen. Mitt Romney tweeted: "When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China's investigation is his political opponent [Joe Biden] ... it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated."
Does it really? If we assume that Trump's call to China to investigate, in effect, itself was really serious, let us make some other, hypothetical assumptions. Let us assume that there are several Americans who qualified for such an investigation, but only a few of them held or would be running for political office. Which would be more appropriate for investigation — the private citizen, who has authority only over himself, or the political official or candidate who has, or may have, authority not only over himself, but over matters of public interest? Particularly when the political office we are talking about is the presidency of the United States?
Is the investigation of a presidential candidate supposed to be prohibited if the current president, the person with the authority to call for such an investigation, is a political opponent? Such calls for such investigations can only be made against members of the suspected offender's own party? Biden's Ukraine dealings could be challenged only if Hillary Clinton were president? Could there be some problem in that logic?
While we're on the subject of problems in logic, and on Joe Biden, and on corruption — specifically, Biden's son Hunter working for a Ukrainian energy company (Burisma), while having no background in energy or Ukraine, yet making as much as $83,000 a month, while his father served as the point man for the Obama administration policy in that nation, and which authority Biden used to halt an investigation of Burisma...

Because he was the Vice President in an administration that was apparently crawling with corruption and pay for play. Don't worry, Mitt. There are others. Worried?
One of his advisors sat on the board of Burisma with Hunter Biden.
If enough digging is done, I’m pretty sure China connections will be exposed as well.

Please refresh my memory......was Biden running for the Dem nomination when Trump’s call was made?
Oh and PS, Pelousi’s son was also on the Burisma board as something, I cannot remember what. Burisma was currying favor with the Dems. Plain and simple (or maybe Burisma wanted to go into the wine business??)
Long shot, but I’m going to predict Romney runs as a D against Trump.
Mitt backed down and he never bothered obama again after that one night. Never again.
I always wondered about that. It seemed like someone owned Mitt and told him, “No!”.
And then Mitt behaved obediently.
And he still does? Just look at Mitt now!
Mitt and Paul Ryan barely tried. I know, I worked on his campaign in 2012 and it was pathetic. Romney has $300-400M in FY money and he can phone in the campaign, lose and go back to his comfortable life. Trump has arguably much more money to return to but he campaigned like it wasn’t there. And he won. Romney is a noble loser, but a little indifferent to the fact that winning or losing makes a tremendous difference to the county. Imagine there had been no 2nd term to Obama. Would have been great.
He’s exactly the type of candidate the Democrats need...and have none of on the bench.
The dirty traitor. I repudiate the day I ever voted for him. And I’m glad he lost. It would be better to vote for Obama and the Democrats directly then endure the death of a thousand cuts that SOB would have inflicted on us. I am convinced that fake conservatives are worse than honest progressives.

I remain unsettled that Mitt’s niece is the RNC chair.
Biden was only mentioned in the call because he put the pressure on to kill the investigation. If Trump had been mentioning names, Chelsea and Romney’s kid would have been included, I am sure.
