It’s getting harder and harder to take Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seriously. She may be extremely popular on social media to radical progressives, keyboard social justice warriors, and left-wing bot accounts, but she’s losing her edge when it comes to promoting extreme ideas. Other radicals have been stealing her thunder, so her natural response is one of the most predictable we’ve seen in DC in recent years. She doubled down on crazy ideas.
Her latest scheme was to attempt to make a logical argument for “abolishing prisons” by highlighting anecdotal incidents that represent a tiny portion of the prison population. Then, she went further to essentially say she’s owning the conservatives by getting them talking about her crazy ideas. This is not a serious person, let alone a serious politician. That’s not to say she’s not good at politics; her Justice Democrats handlers have coached her well. But she’s letting her ego get the best of her as she promotes ideas that even many radicals will deem incoherent at best.
Mass incarceration is our American reality. It is a system whose logic evolved from the same lineage as Jim Crow, American apartheid, & slavery.

Yesterday morning I spoke with a woman who was thrown in Rikers as a teenager. Put in solitary confinement for MONTHS, aka torture. Force-fed pills.
The conditions were so bad, she too had drank out of toilets.

First of all, many people in jailed or in prison don’t belong there at all.
Whether it’s punitive sentencing for marijuana possession or jailing people for their poverty & letting the rich free through systems like cash bail, we wrongly incarcerate far, far too many people.

Lastly, people tend to say “what do you do with all the violent people?” as a defense for incarcerating millions.
Our lawmaking process means we come to solutions together, &either way we should work to an end where our prison system is dramatically smaller than it is today.

After this, she apparently got a call from her handlers telling her to tone it down because she instantly changed subjects to the Democrats’ rallying cry, “Get Trump!”
Call me lazy, but I’m not even going to attempt to tackle her Tweets detail-by-detail to debunk her thinking and sink what she’s proposing. It’s just too easy and I’m sure our readers are well aware how ludicrous she really is. We’ll leave it to Twitter reactions to express how everyone should feel about her concepts on criminal justice reform:

This isn’t a joke. She’s dead serious. This is what the radical progressive left wants for America. Some are calling it anarchy, but that’s only partially true. They want to use chaos to force their ultimate goal of authoritarian rule.
This was the idea behind the “Escape from NY” movie and its sequels. Send all the prisoners to Manhattan and shoot anybody who tries to leave!

Might be a smart thing for her to do, as her campaign finance violations have her heading to one.
In keeping with AOC’s ‘logic’, let’s let all the prisoners out and imprison all those who are not criminals. That should work out perrrfectly! Of course, most pols will remain free, and not by exception, either.

Sentencing should take on 3 forms, punishment, fines, or execution
The functional definition of a felony is a crime for which one is executed
I think AOC should be at the gate of the prison by herself, unarmed, at midnight the night they turn them all loose. Wouldn’t take three minutes before she would be brutally raped. I think that might convince her how absurdly wrong she is.

I’ll agree in so far as some people don’t need to be locked up, they need to be executed.
Having had a close friend raped, brutalized, and shot dead, body dumped in the swamps of Louisiana permanently changed my attitude toward Felony punishment. I know all to well the cruelty inflicted on the victims and their families by miscarriage of justice.

I’ve known a BUNCH of guys that have gone to jail and prison and they all belonged there :)
And they didn’t cry like b.tches about it.
Mafiosi who got caught and did 2 years or 3 to 5 or even 10.
Of course we would all cry they were innocent and put signs on the pizzeria saying “#### ##### is innocent!!”
But that was for laughs.
Then we’d have a nice party when they got back :)
