There really would be no incentive for any doctor to take care of someone like Sanders unless they got some payoff. But, we know that politicians and other power figures in even the most brutal and totalitarian regimes generally find a way to get the best care if it means leaving the country, secret payoffs etc.

This reminds me of the last days of Stalin. Apparently Stalin was having a stroke and his doctors were afraid to do anything because they feared being blamed for the likely bad outcome.

So, unless there is a substantial benefit (whether direct or indirect), it’s generally an increased risk for the provider to be involved in the care of a powerful and/or politically connected person.

Medicare for All would, of course, also include Better Medicare for Politicians, that would spare no expense in keeping these monsters alive and active long beyond the life expectancy of mere serfs.

Under socialized medicine, Bernie would have waited weeks instead of a day.

In Finland, which Bernie has also cited as an inspiration for his socialist program, he would have waited 22 days. In Sweden, another favorite of American socialists, Bernie would have waited 42 days.

In New York, the average wait time is a day.

One of the ways socialist countries save money on healthcare is people DIE waiting to get into a hospital.

BTW, has anybody in the media called this a heart attack? He’s still in the hospital - in lieu of an MI, he should have gone home the next day.

Good point. Angioplasty does not require open-heart surgery. It consists of a catheter and stent being sent through the femoral artery to the point of the blockage(s). The stent is expanded and compresses the plaque against the walls of the artery, thus enlarging the opening and allowing increased blood flow. The patient ordinarily would not be hospitalized for 3 days. I am not a doctor. My knowledge is based on personal experience.

Bernie Sanders to the best of my knowledge has not been released from the hospital where his heart artery stents were installed. The cardiac Doctors have held him in the hospital, because they are requesting more tests be taken.

Usually a stent insert is a one day stay..two at the most, if all is OK. I suspect the Sanders coronary problem is deeper then just a couple of stents installed!!! IMHO, a person that has cardiac problems,....Bernie Sanders POTUS run is over...if he has any brains and wants to live!!!

He missed this one: Sanders is a US Senator and therefore he will ALWAYS get the best medical care available.

If he were not a US Senator, he would get an ENTIRELY LOWER LEVEL OF CARE!
