A CIA officer whistleblower failed to follow the law for protecting members of the intelligence community (IC) seeking to report government malfeasance by going to the Democrat head of the House Intelligence Community before the IC inspector general (IG).

On Wednesday, the New York Times (NYT) revealed:

The Democratic head of the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Adam B. Schiff of California, learned about the outlines of a C.I.A. officer’s concerns that President Trump had abused his power days before the officer filed a whistleblower complaint, according to a spokesman and current and former American officials.

However, the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act (ICWPA) of 1998 explicitly requires an official concerned about wrongdoing within the government to go to the IC inspector general before the congressional panels in charge of oversight of the intelligence community.

Plus you can’t work in the White House and pretend to be a legitimate “whistle blower” against the president. It’s preposterous. The law simply doesn’t apply.

As if following the law really matters in cases like these. It will pass like a fart in the wind.

If you have a CIA employee who is gathering HUMINT (Human Intelligence) against the President and White House...then you have a serious problem. In most countries, he would have been apprehended and charged with treason.

You might as well ask the guy...are you collecting also against Senators and House members? At that point, the congressional people will all freak out because it opens up a bigger mess.

Bah.
I think most people won’t care.
But if there was further contact it would be collaboration- which would bother most people.,

You forget, if they can't remove him from office by phony impeachment it only leaves one more method of getting him out of office. I believe they already have hit-men waiting for the call. These are treacherous people that have taken over the democrat party.

And of course the question of who they are working for. Getting Trump impeached would be very popular with many enemies of America.

All violations of law should be investigated and prosecuted if sufficient evidence is found.

Pretty good gig... spy on the president for Ukraine or Russia or even China, then if you think anyone’s on to you, just make up some bullcrap the Democrats want to hear and tell it to the leading Democrat on the intel committee and it’s all OK, he and the press will give you protection. The dems are creating just that sort of ‘get out of jail free’ card for current and future spies.

Even if there were credible grounds to impeach Trump, the Democrats are so crazed and incompetent to pursue it. They will pay the price. First, Schiff should resign from the committee and from congress. Pelosi should demand it. If she can’t, maybe because she was in on the set-up, then she too should resign.

I wonder if this “whistleblower” fiasco is what Putin “joked” about when he said that he and his “Russkis” were going to meddle in the 2020 election too.

His job and identity won’t be protected if he didn’t follow the law.

He may even go to prison if he revealed the contents of a classified phone call to Adam Schiff.

I’ve thought of that but not in a while.

Got too comfortable.

I pray the SS isn’t bought and sold yet.

But even still, it’s hard to protect someone from EVERYWHERE

We can just pray

...failed to follow the law...

Of course he failed to follow the law - he was already planning on breaking it with this obviously false claim based on hearsay. But then, I'm betting he had to go to the pol first - to get his marching orders.

Thundersleeps sez:

"I'm betting he had to go to the pol first - to get his marching orders."

There is a tread about Schiff writing the WB report.

The WB went to Schiff 2 days before filing the report; giving time for Schiff to write it up.

Trump says Schiff 'helped write' whistleblower complaint [TR]

And then CWB sez:

SCHIFF IS THE 'WHISTLEBLOWER'!

The whistleblower and Schiff are ONE THE SAME!!
