I only excerpted that much, because the outrageous conclusion is at the bottom of the article and would otherwise be missed by many readers. Before the end of the article, the professor made arguments against disqualification.
It depends. Congress may, but doesn’t have to, declare a person ineligible to “hold any office of trust or profit under the United States.” It can be part of the penalty if the president or any other official is impeached and removed.
They chose not to do it when they impeached and convicted Judge Alcee Hastings, which is why he is now a Congressman.
If they were to include that disability in their removal of President Trump, then he could not be re-elected. But if not, then theoretically he could.
That’s what baseball bats were made for.
No that is NOT a threat against this guy, it was a comedic comment on what seems to be the weapon of choice in certain NYC areas.
Can’t be too careful these day with what you say :)
I smell a rat.
Yes, we are a nation of people, and our President, not the House, the Senate or the courts and the people would reelect Trump no matter what the House and Senate do to destroy him.
heed Alexander Hamiltons advice ////
Hamilton’s advice is not a legal document.
This is all absurd conjecture anyway, since there aren’t 67 votes in the senate to convict. I doubt if there’s 40.
academic you-know-what
I looked him up, he is a LEFTARD from the Woodstock days.
Against the death penalty, racism...
He is a Lefty hero, a University-dweller sheltered from the Communism he espouses by fat paychecks, Cadillac healthcare plans and unlimited perks.
A Bolshevik who poisons kids minds for 50 years now.
No.
Assuming the Senate invokes the clause barring future government service, he would be subject to the "fail to qualify" portion of the 20th amendment.

Yep it looks like it!
Well I think it depends on Attorney General Barr.. If Barr moves fast enough he will start indicting people before the Dems really get moving on their Impeachment Hearing.. Thus they might vote to impeach and then the Senate will not convict..
Alcee Hastings.
