Las Vegas shooting motive remains elusive [tr]
Fox News ^ | 1 October 2019 | Greg Norman

Two years have now passed since the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history – yet the biggest question about it remains unanswered.

The American public is still in the dark as to why Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on concertgoers outside the Mandalay Bay resort on Oct. 1, 2017, killing 58 and wounding hundreds more.

The FBI’s agents and behavior specialists spent more than a year investigating the attack. Officials released clips of nearly 1,200 officer body camera videos, many hours of 911 audio recordings and dozens of handwritten and transcribed witness accounts.

But 730 days later, no one can definitively say what Paddock’s motive for the massacre was.

Paddock acted alone when he planned and carried out the attack, Aaron Rouse, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas office, said in January. The 64-year-old fatally shot himself as police arrived into his hotel suite.

Las Vegas police closed their investigation in August 2018 without establishing a motive.

Paddock was a retired postal service worker, accountant and real estate investor who owned rental properties and homes in Reno and in a retirement community more than hour’s drive from Las Vegas. He also held a pilot’s license and liked to gamble tens of thousands of dollars at a time.

Police characterized him as a loner who had no religious or political affiliations, despite reports he had ranted about the Federal Emergency Management Agency “camps” set up after Hurricane Katrina and deadly standoffs between law enforcement officers and militia groups at Waco, Texas, in 1993 and Ruby Ridge, Idaho, in 1992.

This is first I've heard of this...

"Reports" say he ranted about FEMA, Waco, and Ruby Ridge? Is this another media invention to try to push him as a "right wing terrorist"?

First I’ve heard that also, and I followed this for awhile after it happened. Just more FUD spreading as far as I can see.

According to the article, he used the word “camps”, and Greg Norman filled in the rest for us.

If only bump stocks had been illegal then...... It wouldn't have made a difference. And as hildabeast might say: "What difference at this point does it make?". 👹😜

Officials released clips of nearly 1,200 officer body camera videos, many hours of 911 audio recordings and dozens of handwritten and transcribed witness accounts.

And not ONE of these things will tell you anything about the shooter's motive. Why would the author put these two things in juxtaposition?

He appears to have been a money launderer. I wonder if he worked for the CIA?

______________

Maybe.

Maybe he was a completely whacked out loon, looking out on the crowds of people, and perversely pretended he was shooting at as many Deep State Beasts who he felt never received their proper justice.

Nah ......

They knew from day one. Any normal event, they will know 5 minutes after they get his laptop, search history, cell phone, and bank records, just who and what he is about.

In this case, I think they are hiding something big. One video of the events of that night, you can hear an automatic weapon go off down the street about half hour after they have cleared the room and found him dead. Actually, there are all kinds of anomalies about that night that have just washed away down the memory hole.

I personally think he worked for the FBI. Something went wrong, and its as easy to let him take the blame, since he’s dead and it does him no harm.

Paddock was a patsy and the full-auto fire did not come from bumpstocks.

Not heard that either or seen evidence of that claim. If I am wrong, please let me know.

From what I understand, at least from independent sites. He may have already been dead at the time of the shooting. A convenient scape goat used by those who want a curtailment of the Second Amendment.

According to one theory posted here some time ago the so called perp was dead before any of the shooting began because it was a FUBAR assassination attempt on the Saudi crown prince who was visiting Vegas and had an upper floor at the Mandalay. The assassins decided to use a mass shooting as cover and escape when the SHTF. Not sure how true any of this was but it’s a fascinating theory.

Sounds like he may have been like Timothy McVeigh, Philippine connection and all, not unlike Ramzi Yousef. Ramzi Yousef was into partying too, wasn’t he? He did not lead the life of a fundamentalist at all, his gripe was much the same as any American SDS leftist trained in Cuba or Irish IRA terrorist trained in Libya. His relative KSM was the same... not religious, a party animal known to frequent bars and expensive hotels.
The 9/11 hijackers had connections in Las Vegas... at least one hijacker on each of the four hijacked airplanes traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada sometime between May and August of 2001, besides Atta.
