I’m concerned with aspects of the Committee’s request that can be understood only as an attempt to intimidate, bully, & treat improperly the distinguished professionals of the Department of State, including several career FSOs.
Let me be clear: I will not tolerate such tactics, and I will use all means at my disposal to prevent and expose any attempts to intimidate the dedicated professionals whom I am proud to lead and serve alongside at the Department of State.

For me, this whole “fight back like Trump” thing started with Kavanaugh. Any other republican president, as well as SCOTUS nominee, would have pulled Kavanaugh from consideration, even over utterly bogus, trumped up nonsense. They didn’t expect T and K to actually fight. It forced them to play it through and show just how silly it was.

Pompeo also laid it out on the demokraps - never trust a demokrap with following the rules, or show respect for our institutions. Expect separation of powers is something the media will gloss over, and keep the general public in the darkness of ignorance.
Okay, I understand that congress has an oversight role in within the checks and balances of our government structure, but what real power does a ‘committee’ really have? Can someone help with a quick civics lesson please?
