Facing a deepening quagmire over homeless encampments, Los Angeles elected officials are increasingly looking to sweeping statewide initiatives to shake loose solutions. The latest proposal from Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and City Councilman Joe Buscaino would have the governor declare a state of emergency on homelessness in California.
Supporters view such a declaration as a novel strategy to free up state and federal funding typically reserved for natural disasters, such as earthquakes or wildfires, and to suspend or streamline the regulatory hurdles that often slow down shelter and housing development. It also could block NIMBY opponents from using environmental reviews to sue and delay or block homeless facilities from opening.

Not a dime of federal money for them - LA City Council actually voted to prohibit cops from taking away “property” on the sidewalks of the homeless. So rats and other vermin can hide in that property and make nice homes of it. Let them pay for this.

Tourism to the homeless heavens in Kalifornia is tanking. Go figure. Good buy money and good buy businesses. Newsom and the socialist democrats who control that state and the large cities I’m sure are proud of their accomplishments. The democrats are doing such a good job at managing Kalifornia that the state is collapsing from both ends, on one end the working tax payers are fleeing in droves and on the other the state is overflowing with homeless and welfare recipients. Gee, where do think this will lead? IMHO, it has to be orchestrated because every thing the democrats have done has hurt the viability of the state.
What they need to do is double down on social engineering.
They need to institute more policies that wreck the individual family and it’s values. They need to define more gender issues. They need to totally eradicate the Christian faith and the moral values it teaches. They need street corner free abortion clinics, much the way coffee kiosks have sprung up. They need to free more hard core convicts. The number of things like this they can do to combat homelessness is staggering.
