What "smear"? The President asked the Ukraine President to look into serious evidence of corruption and intimidation engaged in by the former Vice President - but even that was secondary to the corruption as to the origins of the bogus Russia probe and Crowdstrike, which the media deliberately misreported - actually omitted - from their coverage, and told people the preceding comments made by the President were about Biden, a blatant lie repeated on virtually every news network. So, the millions of people who were deliberately lied by the media were indeed effected. The power of fake news.
