I think many honest people cannot grasp the enormity of the corruption that exists in the US Federal Government and in the Democrat Party and the establishment Republican Party, and that they therefore have difficulty believing that it exists.
In other words: Sometimes something is so enormous that we just can't wrap our minds around it.

Now, I can sort of understand some FReepers still not getting the entire picture, but hopefully Trump, Rudy et al are merely playing dumb. At this point in time, claiming political sabotage is like complaining the Nazi's Atlantic submarine warfare was unfair.
Remember, all is fair in love and war. The critical, salient point is that these acts transcend any concept of political process ie to guide the common weal. Rather, it should be recognized these are acts of war specifically designed to undermine the republic so that the victors can claim victory and seize the prize of total rule. Period.the.end.
Within this context, everything begins to make perfect sense, and all emotional engagement becomes void. C'est la guerre: it's the war. Does anyone really believe what has transpired over the last 4 years can be walked back, and everything then goes back to "normal"? No, so prosecute the enemy action as the war it actually is. The domestic enemies certainly are, and have absolutely no compunction about pushing the nation to and over the ledge.

So, the only difference this time around is that the primary threat is domestic. And yet, the founders presumably really feared that potential outcome, rather than any foreign, overseas risk, which is why the designed the system of government that still (nominally) exists.
However, if competition over scarce resources is a primary driver, and if the quest for power, economic security and material wealth are so deeply inculcated within our species that certain individuals/groups are willing to risk their very lives in pursuit of those levels of control, then we can reasonably conclude that war is a universal constant.
Since that's the case, it's long past the time for worrying, fretting and exclaiming "I can't believe it's happening here!" Of course it was (eventually) going to happen here - we're humans, just like everyone else. So, we need to collectively face the facts of the situation at hand, buck up and get down to the business of fighting for our freedom and liberty.
There is going to be a lot of egg on the faces of these people who have said Barr is a straight shooter, etc. Keep your powder dry. We may be facing a true civil war in a yr or so.

If recent history is any indicator, there’s no reason for any dems to panic. In fact, they’ve probably been encouraged to keep going targeting Trump, as the latest whistleblower stage play illustrates. Barr could stop all this in an instant if he’d get off his ass and start prosecuting some deep-state miscreants; however, thus far he seems unable or unwilling to do so.
