Turkey is now a haven for terrorists and an enabler of terrorism
NY Post ^ | September 23 2019 | Jonathan Schanzer and Aykan Erdemir

Hamas in 2015 filed suit against Turkey’s Kuveyt Turk Bank in a New York court. They charge that the bank helps Hamas finance its terrorist attacks, allegations the firm is almost certain to deny.

The lawsuit against this Shariah-compliant bank, which counts the Turkish government as a shareholder, comes two weeks after the US Treasury sanctioned 11 Turkey-linked entities and individuals for supporting Hamas and other jihadist outfits. The evidence keeps mounting: Turkey has become a haven for regional baddies.

Under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey has become a permissive jurisdiction for rogue regimes and their illicit bankers. Between 2012 and 2015, Tehran relied on Turkish banks and a dual Iranian-Turkish gold trader to circumvent US sanctions at the height of Washington’s efforts to thwart the Islamic Republic’s nuclear ambitions. It was the biggest sanctions-evasions scheme in recent history.

My first wife was born and raised in Istanbul. She got that ring on my finger and terrorized the living shit out of me.

Which is why she was my first wife. Little gnome.

The author never heard of Cyprus.
I have been for either expelling Turkey from NATO or withdrawing from NATO ourselves since 1973.

This has gotten much worse under Erdogan as everyone knows. He’s a dictator and total extremist muslim with nothing in common with westerners.

In the 70’s when I was there; it was quite westernized with young women wearing tight jeans and disco’s with dancing and fun. I wouldn’t even want to visit there now. So dangerous to westerners; even when chaperoned.

I doubt most the Turkish people want this radical faction of Islam in their country but they are powerless against the political corruption there. Sometimes it feels that way here too with the radicalized commiecrat pols in America. Not really much difference and as more radicals get elected to office; that difference gets smaller. Think Jihad Squad.

Back in the day, Turkey was a staunch NATO member. They ere / are the only ember nation that actually shared border with the USSR. But since Erdogan came to power they have moved more and more fundamental islamic, in direct contravention of Ataturk and modern Turkey, more anti-Israel, and have cozied up to Csar Vlad. Honestly don’t know why they are still in NATO....

From recent reports, indication’s are that the US government on their base in Incirlic Turkey, stores or keeps about 50 nuclear weapons. Even so they may be under US control, at the moment, I would not trust the current dictator of Turkey, not even in an empty basement. Not to mention that he also happens to be a (m)uslim what makes him even less trustworthy.

It sounds like a deal with the devil. We stay in NATO and put up with a regime that at the very least enables terrorism. In exchange, we get to keep nuclear weapons on Turkish soil. Meanwhile, Germany is flooded with Turkish migrants. Can’t see where this leads anywhere good.

Here’s the complete first sentence as your excerpt makes NO SENSE AT ALL:

“On Monday, four children of an American and his Israeli wife killed by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in 2015 filed suit against Turkey’s Kuveyt Turk Bank in a New York court. They charge that the bank helps Hamas finance its terrorist attacks, allegations the firm is almost certain to deny.”
