Millions?? I saw 250K in NYC in the article (unverified, of course), then, “thousands” more in other cities...it would have to increase 300% to even make one million, let alone, “millions”.

If I had a kid spouting this propaganda I would tell them they need to live their beliefs. I would take their TV, phone and iPad (after all most are components made of fossil fuels. I would make them walk or take their bike because the school bus or their car uses fossil fuels. I would make sure they understand exactly what kind of life they are demanding.

Re walking. That requires energy like every other mode of transportation. In the case of walking, your body is the engine converting carbon based fuel (I.e., food) to energy your muscles can use to move your body. The body is a very inefficient heat engine. Where did your fuel ( food) come from? From farmers raising crops and livestock using fossil fuels. How did the food get processed in factories, canneries, and slaughterhouses? With fossil fuels. How did the processed food products get to your warehouses, distribution centers and supermarkets? Fossil fuels. How did it all stay safe to eat with no bacteria growing from factory to your table? With refrigeration run on fossil fuels.

So, to simply say “walk” diminishes the total fossil energy required for you to do that simple daily activity. In today’s world, you can’t even walk without indirectly consuming large amounts of fossil fuel!

I know, but to your average preteen and especially teens walking would be the total humiliation. Making them walk or ride a bike would bring the whole fossil fuel thing into personal perspective, as would losing their phones and ipads

I was in NYC for lunch yesterday. Even went right by Union Square, where many Leftist inspired protests have some presence, most of the time.

I was in Mid Town, walked down town and bused cross town.

Didn’t see a hint of massive “climate” protests. Have no idea where the supposed 250,000 NYC protesters were huddled.
