A Bronx man arrested for fare jumping was carrying a gun and three dozen bags of weed — and told cops he pulled the brainless move because he was rushing to court to appear for a worse crime, law enforcement sources said Thursday.
Ex-con Billy Walters, 37, allegedly slipped through an emergency subway gate at the 149th Street station without paying at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest affidavit.
When a police officer stopped him, she allegedly spotted a loaded .45-caliber Sig Sauer in his waistband — at which point he rattled off the worst excuse ever, the officer said.
“I didn’t pay, because I was running late to go to court. I got arrested yesterday,” Walters allegedly blabbed to her.
The fare-skipper — who on Monday was busted on menacing charges for allegedly flashing a gun at someone — then claimed he had a license for the semi-automatic weapon, the affidavit states.

Well, if he’s going to bring weed to court at least he brought enough for everybody.
He didn’t buy that .45 Sig legally.
Perhaps they’ll return it to the legal owner?

You know, I’m *basically* a law abiding citizen, not some gang banger from the Bronx. But, I’ve had to appear in court a few times for various issues. Every time, every single time, I have checked my bag and pockets for contraband and anything that might be considered contraband before leaving my home. It’s just best practice!
