Trump says EPA will cite San Francisco for pollution stemming from homelessness issues

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE — President Trump on Wednesday said he expects the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to slap San Francisco with a violation notice in the coming days related to pollution associated with the city’s homeless population.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump again took aim at Los Angeles and San Francisco over the volume of homeless people in each city. But he escalated his rhetoric, saying an announcement citing San Francisco for environmental violations would come in the next week.

I know for a fact that SF, and for that matter every major city in the US with a “homeless” problem, are in violation of their NPDES stormwater discharge permits. Allowing people to crap on the sidewalk and streets would cause fecal matter to be washed into the storm drain system and from there to every body of water that they discharge into.

These cities are in be with the major eco-activist groups that routinely sue businesses and industries every time there is a violation of these same discharge permits.

They are also polluting the ocean with all the feces being dumped in the ocean through the sewer system. The EapA should require them to have a sewage treatment facility to clean the water befor it is allowed to go into the ocean.

I was just looking at the CalEPA site and am trying to figure out why we even have this Agency, they are Flat Out REFUSING to do their Job based on their official mission statement.

The way I see it they should have been Issuing FINES in the neighborhood of $10 Million Dollars Daily to both San Fran and Los Angeles and began Full Blown CRIMINAL PROSECUTIONS of ALL Public Officials in charge for their REFUSING TO FOLLOW THE LAW and Intentionally POLLUTING OUR WATER

In their twisted logic, they will say that if a million fish are pooping in the ocean, then what are a few thousand people going to do (unless they're throwing their straws into the sewers too?)?

Surely the EPA can provide some e coli concentration data or something that quantifies this for those who demand “science”.

In the early 90’s there was this guy who hung out at Fisherman’s Warf. He’d steal a long baguette from a street stall and use it as a phallus, wagging it at women tourists. We drank beer in Lou’s Blues upstairs and laughed at the tourist’s reactions. Part of the ambiance then. Today’s ambiance I reckon is not so funny.

What are the remedies for those violations? How can they be applied to SF?

Thanks for your posting. These bastards are not only ruining our cities with the so called homeless.

They are destroying our once beautiful rivers by allowing massive amounts of homeless to camp without sanitation rules.

Starting at least 2 decades ago, the illegals swarmed into illegal encampments below and above Healdsburg, Ca..

I stopped Steelhead and Shad fishing in those waters due to obvious public health concerns and my personal safety. One can only imagine what those areas look like now.

Mariner has posted pictures of what has happened to the American and Sacramento river areas in the Sac area due to the so called homeless and zero sanitation re their feces and urine.
