No truce: Trump keeps up feud with California during visit
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | September 18, 2019 | Kevin Freking and Michael R. Blood

President Donald Trump remains on a war footing. With California.

Trump's primary mission during his two-day visit to the state was to raise millions from wealthy Republicans. But he also made a point of deriding the state's handling of its homeless crisis, and on Wednesday, he issued a long-expected challenge to California's authority to reduce car emissions.

Later, he threatened to sic the Environmental Protection Agency on San Francisco over its homeless population, accusing the city of allowing a tremendous amount of waste, including needles, to go through storm drains into the ocean.

Yes and about time. California rivers are full of fecal coliform, the beaches polluted with used needles, the runoff from city streets are a toxic stew of human waste, trash and drug residue. The state, counties and cities have made themselves exempt from environmental law and the president is calling them out on it.

As to the headline: what did they think POTUS should say? That Calif is a shining example of how we should all treat homeless people and illegals? That allowing drug garbage and raw sewage to get into the public waters is helping the environment? That he thinks they are doing so great, he’s going to be sure to send more money to them?

Maybe the deal is that CA is keeping up a feud with POTUS.

Just sayin’.

Remember how the homeless situation was used by the media and Dems to bash Reagan and economic policy. This President is not going to let that happen. He is putting the pressure on THEM.

“California’s authority to reduce car emissions.“

Think about that statement.

“President Donald Trump remains on a war footing. With California.”

Oh yes, the place where Jim Rockford’s trailer would go for about a million in the housing market there. That and so many other things to be proud of there, eh?

——THEM.——

Just who are THEM? One wonders if THEM are the residents of the cities who must daily put up with the human trash polluting the city streets with crap and needles and people?

Do THEM like, enjoy, favor, the degradation of their own lives as a result?

THEM just might approve of the Presidential attack on the disgusting status quo. THEM just might be persueded to vote for the reelection of the President who at least takes a stand to improve the quality of THEM life as a priority

For the record, I doubt it but for the President to make an effort probably doesn’t hurt and might make a very big difference

Where is the CA Department of Public Health? It’s not doing its job. If it receives federal funding, it’s taking it under false pretenses and should be cut off.

San Francisco has maps showing where the highest concentrations of human poop are located. Who gives a damn what their ‘newspaper’ has to say about Trump? It’s a third world hellhole - with all the attendant super rich ‘elites’, dirt-poor street thugs and zero middle class.

It’s nothing new though, that’s WHY a successful private eye was living in a trailer. Great scenery, cheapest possible housing.

If they remove all the seasonal formulations and stick with just one, the price of gas will go down. The refineries have to completely 'reset' each time they have to change formulas. The 'air' in California is much better than it was back in the 60's and 70's and cars do not pollute much any more.

California should have figured this out by now, but the state makes more money off higher gas prices.... so.

Dems regularly said Reaganomics created more homelessness. Even when the economy was sizzling.

It’s a real good strategy, to run his campaign against CA. Except for a few states that are as insane (and are the other sure Dem wins), the rest of the country pretty much hates what has happened to CA.
