London’s first Trans Pride march was ‘one day we’re not outcasts’

More than 1,500 people showed up to London’s first ever Trans Pride march, which organisers called the ‘one day we’re not outcasts’.

The parade kicked off at Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner and ended in Soho Square but the exact route was not revealed beforehand to prevent people interfering with the event.

Despite concerns about safety and numbers, organiser Lucia Blayke said the day had been ‘absolutely incredible and overwhelming’.

She added: ‘The sun’s out and the sky’s blue, if you look at everyone’s faces it’s just big smiles.’

‘For trans people it’s a lot different being out in public.

‘Usually we’re scared, we’re having things shouted at us, we’re humiliated and just really embarrassed.

Who are they trying to kid? The joy of being a "trans" is to be a freak that normal people stare at. The "trans" people get their thrill shocking unsuspecting normal people. "Trans" people most certainly don't want to fit in. They get their jollies being the center of the freak show.
