Luxembourg's PM tears into Boris Johnson over the 'nightmare of Brexit' as he stands next...

Boris Johnson dramatically pulled out of a press conference in Luxembourg today after protests and an extraordinary spat with counterpart Xavier Bettel.

Protesters carrying messages including 'Bog Off Boris' first jeered the PM after showdown talks with EU commission president Jean-Claude Juncker over lunch at a restaurant.

And Mr Johnson then faced cat-calls from a crowd including British ex-pats as he arrived for a meeting with Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel.

The stormy atmosphere led to Mr Johnson requesting the press call be held outside following their private discussions. It was originally planned to be held just yards from the demonstrations.

But in an extraordinary insult, Mr Bettel - whose country has a population of just 600,000 people - refused the request and decided to continue without Mr Johnson, leaving an empty podium beside him.

'Time is ticking,' he said. 'We need more than just words,'

Boris will probably get more home support based upon his mistreatment at this event.

“We need more than words”

A Brexit deal will consist of words.

Typical Bolshevik bullying. Reminds me of how the sheep and dogs were used by the pigs in Orwell’s “Animal Farm”.

The EU is getting more and more desperate as the date for Brexit draws near. We need no further proof that the UK was getting screwed, just as the "Leave" folks said.

Luxembourg is one of Europe's wealthiest countries per capita but is paying only a fraction of their required NATO contribution. No reason we should have to shed American blood for them again.

I'm for exhuming and repatriating Patton's body.

Indeed. The EU is not really being subtle about this. They clearly feel that they are losing out if the UK goes it alone. Which just means the UK should definitely go it alone.

Geebus their deep state seems as bad as ours.

A people—or in this case an historic coming together by four nations—does not morph into a nightmare by pivoting back to a proud heritage, The “nightmare” is when a people lose their way and abandon their family achievements, won over generations of struggle.

“Why do they want to stay in the EU so bad?”

agricultural subsides

plumb jobs with nice pensions

mostly fear of EU retribution

International socialists hate freedom. Karl Marx placed no value on freedom.

Some people not of German origin also like someone else to do the creative thinking.

These people aren’t too bright themselves.

Glauben, not Denken, is their cup of tea.

“British ex-pats”

These folks are worried about residency and ability to work rights if Brexit is hard.
