Full title: Newt Gingrich: Dem presidential candidates doing a great job showing voters why Trump should be reelected

Remember the exciting, unpredictable and entertaining 2015-16 Republican presidential debates? Who would candidate Donald Trump take down this week? How would he dominate media questioners yet again?

Whether you were for Trump, appalled by him or just curious, each debate was worth watching.

Trump was so different – and so cheerfully direct and aggressive – that people began to see the debates as a sort of reality TV (which is what they should be). Our country is better when more people want to watch political debates and participate in elections.

By contrast, Thursday’s Democratic debate was a bore, with an old-time politician tone that made it painful to sit through.

After about 30 minutes of policy-wonk jargon about incomprehensible details of health policy, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., remarked: "This discussion has given the American people a headache."

Like or dislike Trump, I can’t imagine a participant in a Trump-energized presidential debate saying – as South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg did – that the debates "are becoming unwatchable."

The most revealing moment of the debate may have been former Vice President Joe Biden’s comment that to help poor children learn more words, parents should “make sure you have the record player on at night.”

It may be tricky for Democrats if they nominate someone in 2020 who is mentally in a world of record players. It will be quite difficult to try to be the party of the future when you have a candidate of the past.

Democrats are behaving as a band of ravenous wolves doing a free for all on a federal budget while preaching lower consumption for carbon footprints. A bank run free for all cannot be far behind if they ever get in power. The country will be going completely nuts.

Worthy of repeating. Run Joe run!. I personally would like to see Old Joe be their candidate. It would make for some funny moments during a debate with Trump. Trump would mop the floor with him. It would make the Dems cringe so bad that they couldn't vote for Old Joe.

I think Newt under-estimates the power of addiction of free stuff from the gov’t.

I still don’t understand the record player comment. I tried to parse the language, and have listened to commentators. I still don’t get what he was trying to say. What did a record player have to do with anything?

Oh I’m almost any Democrat will win in heavy Democrat areas.

Not much will change that. For other areas the Dem turn out will be looking at:

1) A guy who thinks FDR could have gone on TV during the stock market crash in 1929 (LOL, forget that FDR wasn’t even President nor that TV didn’t really get going until the mid-to-late 1930’s)

2) A fake Indian

3) A mayor that might as well wear a dress

4) The others....

Too bad Vaudeville is no longer around....this would be a great act.

Or they could just go on as The Village People.

That brings back memories.

My Grand Dad had one practically identical to that, wish I had it now.

Don’t try to understand Joe Biden.

You will hurt your brain.

If for no other reason, we should keep quiet on Joe’s gaffes and actually encourage him to stay in the race. This will make for enjoyable watching Joe and Donald in their debates.

I agree.

If it comes down to President Trump and Biden the debates will be a hoot.

His false teeth nearly falling out should cause Dems to come to their senses.

That is exactly the point...... Joe is remembering stories from the radio and from phonographs. There used to be records that provided stories instead of music. Record players are from the ‘60s and before that.

Joe cannot remember any current method of music, ie. CD’s, even 8 tracks would have at least been something that was created in the late 20th century. Phonographs were actually created in the late 19th century, which makes Joe sound like he is either a hundred+ years old or he is so senile that he is only remembering items from his childhood.

I think it was about kids hearing words because he was talking about poor kids hearing 4 million less words
