I read further. The requirement NOT being checked off is that the father must have lived in the USA for at least five years for citizenship to be transmissible by blood with one citizen parent.
These jokers want the law for a child born to two married USC parents to apply.
The issue is not one of discrimination, the issue is that the law requires a biological relationship in this case, which only one of them has.

I think you missed the part that states that the biological father is not a citizen, just merely same-sex married to the naturalized US citizen. They appear to have deliberately used an innocent child to try to force a change to US law.
To: billakay
Yeah, I am sick of foreigners coming here and immediately trying to change US law. It may sound harsh, but I think they should all be deported. JMHO
To: Sacajaweau
Nothing to do with their fake "married status".

Well, there is never a back story on these things:
“...Adiel had only lived in the US for four years and ten months when Kessem was born, which is below the five-year requirement for birthright citizenship.”
And the baby was born in Can-uh-Duh by a surrogate...

Monogamy = Mono + Gamete = One Haploid Sperm + One Haploid Ovum = One Diploid Zygote.
That cannot happen from two XY males or two XX females. Period.

The baby has no biological connection to an American citizen and no legal connection since the two adults who claim this poor baby are not married. They are just raising a fuss - standard procedure for the LGBTQIDIOTs.

Actually, according to the article they are both USCs, but the bio dad did not meet the five year residency requirement, so they are trying to claim it via two USC parents.

I guess I was under the mistaken impression that one had to be a legal resident of the US for 5 years to become a citizen. If that is not a law, it should be. Thanks for the clarification though!

Were supposed to believe that two guys can conceive and birth a baby together.
And these people get mad at us for recognizing reality?

The issue is not one of discrimination, the issue is that the law requires a biological relationship in this case, which only one of them has. Youre not getting it. These reprobates want to amend reality to deem them to BOTH be BIOLOGICAL parents of the children they concoct, THE SAME AS MAN/WOMAN COUPLES. They really want to force us to say that they conceived the child together.

That is correct, but you are mixing up two things. One is the time to live in the US with a Green Card in order to naturalize (which is indeed five years). The other is a rule that applies to US citizens who want to transit that citizenship by blood. Essentially there is a requirement for some blood transmissions of citizenship that the parent not only be a USC, but that he/she also lived a certain number of years on US soil as a USC.
We don't know how these guys got their citizenship...they may have themselves gained it via blood transmittal from their parent(s).
