The PVI for this district is R+12. The pathetic lying worthless media constantly conflates PVI with Trump's 2016 margin, even though they are two completely different things.
Just one problem here. Trump carried this district by 23 points in 2016. The GOP won it by 24 points tonight.
A district with an R+12 PVI went to the GOP by 24 points.
Get this... because the media won't talk about it ... Murphy outperformed President Trump's 2016 margin in the non-coastal counties by 4.5 points.
On top of that, Carteret and Dare County were slammed by Hurricane Dorian last week, and those are two very Republican leaning counties.
So essentially, despite being slammed with a hurricane, despite the media coverage, the GOP outperformed not only the PVI in this district, but also did 4.5% point better than President Trump 2016, in all but the battered coastal areas.
The rural areas are CRUSHING the rats.
But but the polls!!!!. Even in California this SE was in the news more than a few times.
“The Polls are TIGHT, no Dem. has been elected to this seat in over 50 years!!! It’s a bell weather for 2020”
Suck on it Rats / Media.
I just don’t know what a PVI is.
I know I’m dumb.
I had the misfortune to walk by a monitor with CNN playing this morning and saw the headline “Republican Narrowly Wins in NC” If a 24 point margin in a Republican victory is narrow in CNN’s alternative reality then I guess half a point in a Democrat win would be a landslide.
Greg Murphy REP 70,142 61.74%
Allen Thomas DEM 42,570 37.47%
I think it shows the power, still of Trump. I personally think, Trump’s stop the night before assured a great turnout.
The man is tireless. We have these lazy republicans like Paul Ryan, who basically did nothing to keep the house.
We’re seeing it again with all these GOP congressmen retiring.
Amazing how much this man gets done in spite of the daily onslaught from all sides.
Fantastic! Rush said yesterday that the two current races were going to be a ‘bell weather’ for the ‘Rats, and he was right - they got ‘rung,’ LOL!
