Hiring John Bolton to be a senior advisor in the Trump administration is like hiring Michael Moore to be your personal trainer.

Bears repeating. Trump makes mistakes, then corrects them. That is why I trust him.

it has to become tiresome to always find a key adviser always on the other side and basically telling you what not to do. That’s really not what advisers are for

Bingo.

No Paul.

In 2024? Abbott of Texas. Cruz of Texas. DeSantis of Florida.

Jus to name a few.

YMMV

Heck -- the U.S. would have withdrawn from the Iran agreement even if Hillary Clinton was the President.

You're nuts. Hillary and every Democrat was behind Obama's Iran deal. And, so were some of the code pink Republicans.

Baloney. All the Democrat candidates have said they’ll reinstate the agreement.

“Hell no. Paul’s foreign policy would be no different than Obama’s”

Obama , McCain and Hillary got us into a war to topple the Syrian government

Rand Paul always opposes that. He wants us out of the Syrian mess. So does Trump

Yep, nothing like Conservative Orthodoxy and neocons to carry us forward.

Just what we need.

I think, Trump was struggling with firing Bolton for a long time, and word probably got to Bolton that he was going to get the axe. So, he decided to resign rather than to be let go.

Probably doesn’t make a lot of difference in other times, but dropping Bolton now sends a message that Trump is serious about negotiating. Bolton could have been a stumbling block with N. Kor and Iran etc.

I am happy with the USA not fighting pointless wars.

A true peace dividend.

Trump campaigned on ending our endless Mideast wars, and not starting new ones. He called Bushs invasion of Iraq a historic piece of stupidity, a monumental blunder

Trump campaigned on peace through strength, destroying ISIS and standing up to tyrannical Muslim nations like Iran.

He also campaigned on keeping the U.S. out of these stupid wars that never end.

The U.S. has pissed away thousands of lives and trillions of dollars in Afghanistan. We're still there. Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden was being sheltered by the Pakistani intelligence agency when the Navy Seals took him out.

Who is standing up to THAT tyrannical Muslim nation?

Don’t bet on that. I suspect Joe Biden is bought and owned by the same Sunni Islamic governments that pulled John McCain’s strings for years.

Rand Paul has common sense and sees beyond the hype of popular ideas. He is able to speak truth to power with dignity. and he has lots of original, smart ideas that he thinks through before opening his mouth. Yup

Beat me too it, absent 10% GDP growth and a host of miracles there is almost no chance Pence wins the general in 24

He’s done great as VP and is a good man and I’m glad he’s in there but I just don’t see him winning

If you look at the issues Paul is probably closer to Trump than anyone else

His instincts regarding the United Nations are good. If he could have reigned in the warmongering he could have been OK.

I don’t want Bolton foreign policy and I don’t want Paul foreign policy. There has to be something in the middle.

So is the message we’re getting that Bolton was opposed to talking to the Taliban?
