Businesswoman and former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina on Monday accused Republicans of demanding the party’s voters “swear fidelity” to President Donald Trump.
“In this country, we pledge allegiance to the flag, not the president. We swear fidelity to the Constitution, not the party,” Fiorina wrote in a blistering Twitter thread.

Elections are very expensive for the state government to run. Since none of these "opponents" of Trumps are serious candidates, particularly the former governor of and US Representative from SC, the state elected to save money by canceling the primary.
