“the right-wing network really literally is paid Russian propaganda.
Since this is literally a lie her saying this on air should help them with the suit.
I wonder if Rachel knows what literally means.
Use of the word doesnt leave her any room to say she was being sarcastic or being humorous.
Using the word suggest that she has proof of the assertion. If she can not produce proof she has no defense.
Be a shame if somebody busted the teeth out of her lying face...
Hope OANN wins.
My understanding of the issue is that OANN bought stories from a freelance guy.
Freelance guy also pitched and sold his own story ideas to *other* news outlets—including a Russian one called Sputnik.
Big whoop.
It’s what freelancers do. The flip side being, the news outlets have freelancers stationed all over the world, and pay for their *local, independent* perspectives on events.
Rachel Maddow knows this.
But Maddow then accused OANN on the air of publishing “paid Russian propaganda” which is absurd. OANN wasn’t publishing the freelancer’s Sputnik stories, nor was Sputnik — or Russia— telling the freelancer what to write.
