After Walmart and Kroger earlier this week urged customers not to openly carry firearms in their stores, drug store giants Walgreens and CVS, along with the Wegmans Food Markets announced Thursday that they were joining in making the same request, continuing a movement among major stores concerning gun violence.

"We are joining other retailers in asking our customers to no longer openly carry firearms into our stores other than authorized law enforcement officials," Walgreens stated.

"We join a growing chorus of businesses in requesting that our customers, other than authorized law enforcement personnel, do not bring firearms into our stores," CVS added.

"The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming, and we don’t want anyone to feel that way at Wegmans," the food store said in a statement, saying they 'prefer that customers not openly carry firearms.'

So what. I just conceal-carried in WM. No more open carry for awhile for me— too many “SWATTings” have been happening. We’ll wait until after we win the war for that. For now, I want tactical advantage.

“The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming, and we don’t want anyone to feel that way at Wegmans”

Imagine how they will feel when a criminal comes in with one, and doesnt give a flip about their fee fees.

But hey, the stuff suits dont have to worry about that.

Oh! Thank goodness they asked that!

Now the killers will realize they cannot kill a bunch of people in those stores because they cannot go in there with their gun!

Good thinking!

“The sight of someone with a gun can be alarming”

I’m sure someone planning mass murder will be sensitive to their concerns. Perhaps he’ll conceal his weapon in his coat as long as possible.

Herd mentality. After they lose sales because of this anti-American policy, they can run a bunch of gay ads and see how sales plummet more just like JC Penny Nd Macy’s a few years ago.

These CEOs are incredibly stupid.

Like you implied. Open carry can draw unwanted attention. I am comfortable with concealed carry until we get America back.

So are they just requesting people not to open carry or are they asking them to not carry at all?

If it’s just a request, what if someone says “no” to said request?

I don’t think open carry is a good idea. Why be the first target to a shooter? Why get hit over the head or sucker punched while walking around a store?

Concealed carry is the only way I will go and if a store tells me I can’t conceal carry I will anyway.
