Where Walmart leads on guns, will others follow? (barf alert)
Chicago S-T ^ | 5 sept 2019

Why is Walmart doing the right thing?

Because you, the average American fed up with the stupidity of our nation’s gun laws, want Walmart to do the right thing.

Good luck trying to get Congress to enact even the most widely supported gun reforms. Congress does not answer to you. Congress answers to the gun lobby, with its tens of millions of dollars to throw around. It answers, as well, to a relative minority of gun-defending extremists who control Republican primaries in red states and — thanks to gerrymandering — congressional districts.

But Walmart, in its way, answers to you. You can shop there or not. You can work there or not. You can buy its stock or not.

Walmart: Darling of the leftist media.

Laughable. Between this and all the Chinese crap backlash, they are looking at some serious pain in their future. I predict.

I thought the left didn’t like Wal-Mart.

BTW, I’m not too worried about wal-mart’s policy on guns. Most of the guns in my area are purchased at the myriad of small gun shops. And the ammo is usually bought in bulk at these same shops or online.

This is good news for the small sport shops. China-mart will be losing market share to the little guys.

I would think that Walmart getting out of the ammo or even the gun business entirely would be a Godsend for smaller gun stores. The return of Mom and Pop.

The real question is, when WalMart retreats, will others follow?

This will end about as well for WalMart as Jeb Bush figuring he could insult his base and win the nomination.

Walmart did not lead. SEARS, Montgomery Wards, K-Mart,Penneys, Woolworths, OG&E, TG&Y, Target, all sold guns then quit selling them decades ago.

Where are they now? Only Target and Penneys are still around on tottery legs.

Caballas and all the independent sporting stores thank you. It’s not a matter of price, it’s freedom to purchase. Gun owners will turn to loading at home if it gets too expensive.

I thought the left didn’t like Wal-Mart.

They got their minds right back under the Clinton Administration. They went all-in on the LEED green nonsense in the early 2000's. They were voluntarily raising wages to get out front of the $15 minimum campaign. They are the #1 beneficiary of Food Stamp money. They found that resistance was futile and they have been assimilated.

Ever since the website “http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/"; came into existence, I have seen no good reason at all to actually go to a Walmart store.

I buy my ammo at Murdocks or Ace Hardware these days.

Better prices than Walmart and better selection. They sell decent firearms too.

Today it’s Walmart. Tomorrow it will be Tractor Supply. They came for the communists, etc., etc...

In other news...Walmart has stopped hiring humans as they are responsible for mass shootings.

So.....
When is the big gun and ammo liquidation sale at Wally World? There’s a Marlin lever action I’ve been eyeing at the local one.
