Concealed carry won't be that useful, but if everyone has an SAW or some other type of belt fed weapon in their garage we should still be able to perform our obligations to the militia if needed.
It might be a reasonable regulation to require people owning belt fed weapons in calibers above 7.62mm to take a safety course. That would be particularly relevant for 20mm or 30mm guns.

I went to basic training and advanced infantry training when I joined the Army National Guard in the 80s. I was issued an M-16 which was introduced to us as an “Assault Rifle”. This leads me to believe it is a real term used by real soldiers as opposed to the term “Assault Weapon” which was a term made up much later by Leftist gun grabbers.
No, it is a technical term used in the Army at least since I was in the National Guard back in the 80s and 90s to describe the M-16. The term made up by Leftist gun grabbers is “Assault Weapon”.

Sure, but my point was that the author asserted that there was no such thing as an "assault rifle". And at least three replies to my comment seemed to not realize that "assault rifle" is a real technical Military term--as contrasted by "assault weapon" which was a term made up by gun grabbers in legislation.
I am trying to make people aware of this distinction to avoid our side looking as foolish as Biden.
