#1. You are right in trying to guess which “one” of your explanations is the “real” one. Only time will tell.
However, I detect a hidden bias and anti-Semitism by the NY Slimes against “white privilege” (i.e. private beaches/clubs and gated communities) as well as against supposedly wealthy Jews (who are the major component group discussed in this article re the “beach/club-house”).
Let’s wait and see what develops. You just can’t depend on the NY Times for the truth, the WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth.

About a week ago my neighbor here in the marina walked into our large bathroom about 7::300 pm. Scrawled on 2 of the shower doors was F—- Trump and Kill whitey. No one called the news. She called me because she was in there alone and it scared her. And she’s Latina.
