The assault rifle-toting madman who killed seven people and wounded more than 20 others in a roving Texas spree was identified Sunday as Seth Ator.
Ator, a 36-year-old resident of Odessa, Texas, was first named as the assailant by CBS News, citing law-enforcement sources.
When his gold Toyota pick-up truck was pulled over for a minor signaling infraction along a stretch of I-20 near Midland, Texas, on Saturday, Ator blasted approaching state troopers, seriously wounding one, authorities have said.
He then peeled off, firing indiscriminately with his AR-style rifle out of the truck as he floored it towards Odessa, authorities said.
Along the way, he killed a USPS worker and hijacked her mail truck, continuing the spree, officials said.
He made his last stand in the parking lot of an Odessa movie theater, where he was killed in a shootout with cops as horrified onlookers prayed for their lives.
Authorities are yet to identify a concrete motive behind the onslaught.

The guy is insane.
He dumped his truck for some reason? Maybe it had something illegal in it someplace? Drugs? Or something else. Must have been high on something to think he could win a shootout with the cops. There is something missing in this puzzle.
To kill....is a motive. Why do they always deny “to kill” as a motive.
Exactly! Assigning a motive to a looney tune is itself rather neurotic.
They sure aren’t telling us a lot. Hopefully, neighbors will be more open.....after their heart beats return to normal.
They didn’t want to give the murderer any notoriety by naming him.
The same people who insist the death penalty isn’t a deterrent insist not naming a mass shooter is a deterrent!

Maybe the perp didn't know it was a Federal Felony to assault a Postal Worker. If he had, surely he'd not killed her.
OK, so he fails to signal, they pull him over, and he opens fire. If this was a trap for the police, it seems like he would use something better than failing to signal as bait. Maybe he just snapped.

The trespassing indicates possible drug use. Here I go, trying to make sense out of this wacko.

Okay. These guys are essentially and increasingly obviously drug-addled suicidal PLANTS activated with entirely too much regularity by unknown third party controllers. Israel knows about these kinds of attacks. In our case, it’s not the PLO or Hamas who’s doing it, it’s someone or something else entirely. We need to get to the bottom of this and fast.
