And right before the Labor Day Weekend, imagine that?! You don’t think the Deep State wants this dead & buried? Just look at the timing!

Signing three FISA warrant requests despite knowing the underlying evidence was unverified is the higher hurdle he must clear.

Comey knew what he was doing, and that is why he invented the bogus intent standard (which is not in the law) in the Hillary Clinton “matter.”

Not at all surprised. We are no longer a nation of laws. We now have “Government of the Government, By the Government and For the Government”.

That “Oath of Office” is just for show, it means nothing to anybody who is living large at the expense of those of us who are dumb enough to vote for them.

No one of significance in the deep state will be prosecuted....by the deep state.

DemocRATs/Commies, Deep State (GOPe), Wetbacks, Muzzies and Pedophiles all seem to get a pass on breaking laws.

And WE sit back and put up with it.

Let that sink in.

I am let down by Barr’s decision.
The Dems never worry about diplomacy, nuance or penumbra. They just lop heads off (figuratively speaking, of course), let the chips fall as they may.

Who in DoJ made the call? The article does not say. It is not the IG’s place or role to call for charges.

Manafort will be charged and convicted in NY State to assure he dies in solitary.

Good you posted this. As a misanthrope I am holding back a lot.

General Flynn awaits his apology, and dismissal of all charges.

True. Another post said Manafort will be charged in NY so he will die in solitary. True.

Right. But If Comey can read the mind of Hillary and tell the world she had no criminal "intention" to her "carelessness" and thus deserves no prosecution,

and Mueller can tell Congress he found no real collusion or obstruction and was held back but they should by implication impeach the heck out of Trump anyway,

then the IG can make the sovereign decision to let Comey go for his non honest actions.

"I thought this was already decided a couple of weeks ago."

Yes, at least in terms of if Comey broke any law that could be prosecutable.

This specific report was to determine if Comey broke FBI "rules", which AG Barr was never going to do anything about, especially since Comey isn't an FBI employee anymore.

From the report:

Upon completing our investigation, pursuant to Section 4(d) of the Inspector General Act of 1978, the OIG provided a copy of its factual findings to the Department for a prosecutorial decision regarding Comey's conduct. See 5 U.S.C.A. App. 3 § 4(d) (2016). After reviewing the matter, the Department declined prosecution. Thereafter, we prepared this report to consider whether Comey’s actions violated Department or FBI policy, or the terms of Comey’s FBI Employment Agreement. As described in this report, we conclude that Comey’s retention, handling, and dissemination of certain Memos violated Department and FBI policies, and his FBI Employment Agreement.4

https://oig.justice.gov/reports/2019/o1902.pdf (pg's 2,3).

In the grand scheme of things, people shouldn't use this particular report, or this particular issue to hang Barr (or Trump) on.

The ongoing investigation into the FISA abuse is what they should put their chips on. If no one is charged in that case, THEN we can say the house won when it came to the attempted coup.

Ah... a loophole for Trump.
“Not my purview”

Trump could make a call and ask when are any of the crooks going to jail?

The leaking of memos is just one illegal act in conspiracy encompassing many other, much more serious criminal acts.

It is likely that Comey is already under grand jury indictment, or soon will be for a lot more than leaking memos.

More importantly, leaking the memos was simply part of the cover up of more serious crimes, not the actual crime itself.

Hoping that this is just part of the roll out of information exposing just what these guys were up to. Taking down even just an ex FBI Director, CIA Director, ODNI, and Ex Atty General is pretty amazing stuff, it’s worse when these people were acting on orders from and in coordination with those above, and there are not that many above.

This conspiracy is world wide and goes to the highest level of government officials and power elite who are protected by a corrupt and compliant media.

Risky and dangerous stuff so a slow roll out allows public opinion to shift in Trump’s direction while draining support for the guilty.

The presidents team is also using the time to get loyal and honorable people in key positions of power to replace compromised and complicit partisans who have been involved and are covering up/ obstructing justice.

Lots of positioning going on with both sides in anticipation of the storm that is about to hit.

Given the history here, it is very likely that some of the guilty are going to negotiate their way out of the kill zone, especially sitting Senators and President Obama

It’s certain that some of the worst crimes will never be exposed because it’s jn the national interest that they not be exposed.

I think Comey and Brennan are toast for sure but, while Clapper is a moron, he is also a weak link in the conspiracy and he has probably already cut a deal if he was given the chance.

This is all political at the end of the day and I am far more concerned that President Trump gets re elected so if the pace of prosecution of this process needs to be pushed past the 2020 elections do be it.

One advantage of this uncertainty in prosecution is it highlights the crimes but does not mobilize wide spread anger and opposition in the Democrat base since none of their darlings are in obvious legal trouble but helps inform and mobilize support for prosecution as people slowly come to grips with just how bad this really is, which is about as bad as it gets. The only thing that I can think of that would have been worse was if it could have been proven that LBJ led a wide conspiracy to assassinate JFK

As it is, just exposing what Comey did at FBI is going to virtually destroy the agency and have serious, wide ranging consequences.

The simple fact that high level FBI officials, including the Director himself, willfully manufactured evidence to frame a sitting President is going to have every defense lawyer who has defended client against FBI investigated evidence for the last decade demanding hearings to determine if evidence was manufactured in their case.

More importantly, given the ethics and mindset of the Mueller/Comey FBI, pretty sure they will find an astonishing degree of irregularities and bias in FBI “ investigations” of their clients

No way would these guys be this open and brazen unless this stuff had been going on for a long time
