Top George W. Bush speechwriter: 'Trump presidency is not just unfolding, it is unraveling'
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug 20 2019 | Tim Pearce

Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson, who worked in the White House under former President George W. Bush, said the Trump presidency is “unraveling.”

Gerson bashed President Trump in his latest column published Thursday. Bush’s top aide and director of presidential speech writing outlined a series of attacks against Trump and his policies from immigration and foreign policy to the president’s unpredictable rhetoric.

"The Trump presidency is not just unfolding, it is unraveling. All narcissists believe they are at the center of the universe," Gerson wrote. "But what happens when a narcissist is actually placed at the center of the universe? The 'chosen one' happens."

I don’t blame George Bush for hiring this Gerson character

What counts is that George Bush “kept us safe”. (Except of course, not safe from the biggest recession since 1929, and not safe from massive illegal immigration - and not safe from 911, which happened when Bush had already been president for eight months. No he didn’t keep us safe from any of that. But otherwise he kept us safe, so I won’t blame him for Gerson)

No it isn’t unraveling at all. Making great progress, slowly, but surely.

That is exactly what is bothering some.

I also won’t Blame Bush for Ana Navarro or Nicole Wallace

Because he “kept us safe”

(Of course he didn’t keep us safe from Obama riding the country’s anti-Bush DeVore into the White House. But other than that, he kept us safe)

Keep it unraveling if this is the source of our great economy and the elimination of the Bush and Obama legacies.

What’s new? He has been spouting this stuff since before the first 2016 primary:

The only thing DJT is unraveling is the damage done to this country by the bushes and hussein. And he is doing that right well.

He also didn’t keep us safe from the grotesque expansion of the DC bureaucracy and Beltway support contractors all to support the creation of DHS and to pursue a pointless and treasury draining foreign adventure in Iraq. But other than that he kept us safe so I won’t blame him for Gerson either.

This is a tad off topic, but I just looked at Drudge and the economic doom and gloom and then I see stuff like this article and I honestly believe a number of very powerful people have decided they need to do whatever it takes to make sure Trump in not reelected. I believe that could mean taking steps to intentionally encourage the markets to collapse. The rich and political class will protect themselves because they will know it's coming.

If you look through my posts you will see I am the LAST person who puts forth this kind of thing, but at this point it's getting out of control. Powerful people are talking the economy into a recession.

I read as much as I could of the original Garson article. Here is what I found that Gerson uses to justify his unraveling claim:

1. Trump is not a Democrat.
2. He doesn’t like Trump’s sometimes rough use of the English language.

This equates to the UNRAVELING of the Trump Administration.

Give me a break.

He won’t be writing any more speeches. The Rino always likes his great speech and then goes out and does nothing but cave to Democrats.

I don’t blame George Bush.

I certainly do.

And I question the “kept us safe” thing, too. W opened us up to endless, pointless wars, and instituted the abomination known as the “Patriot Act”, which cleared the decks for the kind of treason we saw committed against Donald Trump.

Nope, not a fan...

George W. Bush is the best Democrat the Republicans ever elected.
