In China, it's becoming common for subjects of the Communist state's growing digital apparatus to be denied air travel or business class train tickets, have their internet bandwidth throttled, have their kids denied admission to better schools, denied employment in certain sectors, or even have their dogs taken away. It's called "social credit," it's kept track of digitally and with zero transparency, and Beijing is trotting it out in stages by 2020 as a sort-of kinder, gentler totalitarianism.
Think of it as a digital Stasi. Your neighbor catches you smoking in a non-smoking area, and reports on you with his phone. The state telecom notices you're spending too much time playing online videogames. Your latest social media post gets too many downvotes. Or maybe someone at work you're having problems with just makes something up. It could be almost anything, but once your social credit score turns negative, your life can become a living hell, and with no legal recourse. You'll have to become a conspicuously good little Communist to turn your credit positive again.
Or as the government itself says, "Keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful."

Everything that has been going on in China is also going on in the U.S., it’s just that it is not publicized and is covered up by the media.
Do something “wrong” (politically correct) and you will get taken off of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and other platforms. You will find your accounts being “demonetized.” It’s only a short step after that to people trying to mess up your credit scores, etc.
What makes you think they are “copying” it.. Google is in bed with Beijing and actively helping them BUILD China’s AI and other things.... Don’t kid yourself, they aren’t “copying” they are building the original and just migrating it here.

Silicon Valley designed and implemented the ChiCom;s “Social Credit Scoring”. They’re just capitalizing on their investment. Recently the people of Hong Kong have taken to tearing down the governments HD CCTV system because of it’s use of facial recognition programs to not only identify people to also track them.
That one photo says it all: Fascism.
This garbage would lead to murders being committed.
I haven’t seen it but there is an episode of “Black Mirror” about this. They won’t let Ron Howard’s daughter on an airplane cause she didn’t smile at her neighbors or something so she got too many downvotes. They also did an episode of “The Orville” about it.
DJ and I were chatting yesterday on the stupidity of using your actual name, location, etc. on any social media platform.
No doubt that it will be used against you...especially if you’re not a “true believer”.
