The war on cops imperils us all
nypost ^ | August 21, 2019 | Miranda Devine

Even before the firing of Officer Daniel Pantaleo, cops were backing off. Who can blame them?

Under de Blasio and the city’s progressive district attorneys — they feel under siege.

The disrespect of cop dousings inevitably turned violent when three officers were injured as people hurled heavy objects rather than water.

Joseph Imperatrice, founder of Blue Lives Matter, said, "The days of proactive policing are completely done.”

Patrick Lynch, Police Benevolent Association boss, urged cops this week to “proceed with the utmost caution in this new reality, in which they may be deemed ‘reckless’ just for doing their job.”

Lynch is ripping Police Commissioner James O’Neill for doing de Blasio’s bidding, rather than backing his troops.

O’Neill admitted on Monday when he announced he was firing Pantaleo that in a 13-year career that included 289 arrests, Pantaleo had never injured anyone.

But Eric Garner was an obese time bomb of poor health who made the fatal decision to resist arrest.

Pantaleo tried to subdue him with two departmentally approved restraint moves that proved useless. A bystander video shows the officer shifted his grip for seven seconds to the banned “chokehold” position after the struggle smacked him against a glass storefront window that visibly began to buckle.

Given the possibility of both men crashing through the window with potentially fatal consequences, Pantaleo did what he knew would bring Garner under control. What he did not know was that Garner had heart problems that contributed to his tragic death.

As a consequence, broken-windows policing is kaput, which is exactly what social justice progressives like de Blasio always wanted.

But, as this city knows from life pre-Giuliani, if police give up the relentless daily battle, then violence, lawlessness and fear take over.

For Americans, the problem is restricted to the provence of New York City. When it self destructs like San Francisco, we will be better off

The worst part is the sergeant (who was present at the scene) was only docked 20 days vacation - and she complained about that! As a black female she was totally protected, and is too stupid to understand the free pass she was given.

The family of the perp (Garner) was already paid millions; there was no reason to fire this cop who did nothing wrong. Our permanent underclass bemoans the lack of police when their drug-dealing offspring die, then abuse cops who show up; NYC cops should do the same thing NJ cops did in response to this atmosphere - Stand down in areas without taxpayers, and contain the problem to protect those who actually pay for police protection.

POTUS, Donald J. Trump needs to hold a MEGA/MAGA Law Enforcement/First Responder massive support rally in the heart of NYC, like Madison Square Garden or, Yankee Stadium,. etc. that is free & open to the general public, & Cops, Firemen, 911 Dispatchers, EMCs, AMTs, ER, OR, ICU, Nurses, Medical Aides, Doctors, etc.

The every day folks can come forward from NYC, Long Island, Westchester County, Rockland County, New Jersey, Connecticut, etc. Tens of thousands, if not millions of Americans will come to attend and support these fantastic Public Servants. Democrat, Low Life, Failure, NYC Mayor, Bill De Blasio...need not attend!!! Trumpie...just do it!!!

Look at high-crime Baltimore and Chicago to see what happens when cops feel unsupported and back off.

Chicago is a prime example. Look at the number of weekend shootings and murders, they've spiked as the cops sit on their hands and let the gang bangers run rampant. They know if they shoot one of 'em and take 'em down the progressive liberal black female lesbian mayor of Shitcago is going to want them prosecuted. Hell, the top five powerful political positions in Shitcago are all held by black women who hate the cops.

It shouldn't be any surprise the Chicago PD is sitting on their hands and letting the bullets fly. I'd do the same thing if I were them. Better to get home safe to my family every evening then risk my life getting shot or put in jail for doing my job.

That's a no brainer.

The attack on cops in the cities should not be a matter of concern.

Cities are our enemies. The politics of black cities will result in implosion. Philadelphia and Baltimore have serious insolvable problems. San Francisco and Chicago are on the edge of that reality .

Let the problems literally kill the cities. Only after death can there be real change. The cities are not worth saving

Do your job without violating the rules and there is no reason why police should fear anyone. Officer Pantaleo used a procedure banned by the department and a man died because of it. He should have faced charges and dismissal. If a police officer doesn't think he can do his job within the restriction his department places on him then maybe he should consider another profession?

Recent stories have detailed how police in Minneapolis shot an unarmed women, police in Dallas shot an unarmed man in his apartment, and many other incidents, some which led to criminal charges but many which did not. When an officer was charged was that an examples of a "war on police" too?

If the officer had a night stick to properly control a violent resister, the choke hold would have been unnecessary

The very large criminal thought he could overpower and harm the officers

Political correctess got a good officer imprisoned.

If the NYPD had thought the choke hold was ever necessary then why would they have banned its use?

Political correctess got a good officer imprisoned.

Which officer is that? Are you talking about Noor in Minneapolis? Guyger in Dallas? Someone else? Because Daniel Pantaleo was never tried, convicted, or imprisoned for anything.

“..Stay armed America...”

“The War on Cops...”

The only “War” is against the American citizenry who are disarmed by LAW in some states.

I’d feel a lot more sympathy towards law enforcement as a whole if they’d come out the national FOP and declare openly that they WILL NOT under any circumstances, obey any gun control scheme, directive, or order from a political entity to disarm law-abiding American citizens.

Say it, up front, openly, loudly, and Mr. LEO, you will have the absolute support of every law-abiding American Citizen.

They’re armed, always, everywhere. In states like NJ, YOU are “not allowed” to exercise YOUR right to be armed, always, everywhere. And it’s enforced in traffic stops, etc. Getting CCW in NJ is next to impossible, unless you’re a connected corrupt democrat. They will not honor PA or any other state’s carry license, and going through the system to obtain an NJ CCW just gets you rejected.

They have body armor, instant backup, long guns and shotguns at the their disposal in the trunk of the cruiser, while ordinary Citizens - you know, THEIR EMPLOYERS - cannot and are at risk everyday in places like Newark, Trenton, Camden, etc.

So I’m hard-pressed to feel a lot of sympathy here. Cops KNOW who the bad guys are, and who the bad guys aren’t. They should be the FIRST people pushing for CCW for Citizens after the appropriate background checks - which are ALREADY in place - have been performed.

What else is there to say?

This has now become the Protocols of the Elders of Copland.

There is a blood libel going around, repeated by the likes of Obama and Bill DeBlasio that racist cops are gunning down unarmed, innocent black men. A Harvard study performed by a black economist just proved their claim is entirely wrong and said that it was more likely that the police would shoot unarmed white men than black men. So when Obama mentions Ferguson at the UN, he is repeating the blood libel to the international community. Obama knew explicitly that Michael Brown attacked a police officer and tried to take his weapon and was shot to death in the exchange. Unfortunate event, but it was not murder and the officer was in his rights to protect himself. Yet Obama spread a false narrative to engender hate and misplaced revenge - and now police have targets on their back.

So who wins and who loses. The Ferguson Effect - basically the cops will sit in Dunkin Donuts while the ghetto shootings are going on - and when the guns go quiet, venture out into the streets and assess the mayhem. Why risk your life as a cop for people who are going to call you a racist murderer for doing your job. No matter what an officer does, people like Obama and DeBlasio have already labelled him a racist murderer. Remember the 5 policemen assassinated in Dallas by a Blacks Live Matter supporter. Now the people stuck in these neighborhoods have no one willing to protect them. They are the ones who need these cops, and now they suffer.

The Democrats have been doing that to inner city people for years. Using them as political pawns, making them victims in crime, education and jobs, so they can falsely wear the mantle as saviors - but then never really save them. Perfect example - Cory Booker, who ran out of Newark over a slew of dead bodies, and lead tainted water, but now he is going to make it better for them? What a phony.

And what of the police? Who wants that job now? The disrespect they are shown by black people who are throwing water on them and attacking them with bricks and rocks. Openly taunting them during police shoot outs with drug gang murderers as was done in Philadelphia last week. Democrats are asking too much of police. Things will get worse in the inner city, but I think Democrats thrive when ghetto life gets worse. These Democrat politicians have a perverse incentive to keep everyone poor, victimized, uneducated, on the dole and frightened. They become wards of the state, and wards of the Democrat Party. (Similarly this explains their desire for the crashing of millions of illegal aliens at our borders. Now there is an army of more frightened, unskilled, uneducated, unhealthy voters who will need a political party to feed and clothe them at government expense. And for a scapegoat - now ICE agents are racist murderers, just so you know.)

It is a horrible way to gain political power, but Democrats will use the police as scapegoats for all the wrong that the Democrats have done in the black communities. And thus perversely increase their own electability.

"Recent stories have detailed how police in Minneapolis shot an unarmed women, police in Dallas shot an unarmed man in his apartment,"

CORRECTION:

Recent stories have detailed how police [A SINGLE MUSLIM 'POLICEMAN'] in Minneapolis shot an unarmed women, police [A SINGLE ADDLED WOMAN 'POLICEMAN'] in Dallas shot an unarmed man in his apartment.

You should apply to Soros as a writer. Tell him I recommended you.
