Exactly what I did. I kept hoping he’d drop out and she’d become the candidate.
If there was any election collusion, that one had it all...if we only knew.

Greenland is thought to contain vast mineral wealth, including rare earth metals, gemstones and iron ore.https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2012/jul/31/europe-greenland-natural-resources

It was 2008, not 2012.

The Russians werent smart enough to do much with Alaska beyond over-whaling and over-hunting. That wasn't the only time the Russians goofed. They pretty much owned northern California right up through Alaska. They had a base at Fort Ross just north of San Francisco (Yerba Buena). The Spanish rushed to establish a military base at San Francisco to counter the Russian threat. But the Russians told the Spanish/Mexicans that they were only interested in hunting, and soon abandoned their presence in northern California in the early 1800s due to over-hunting sea otters & seals. History would be very different if they stayed!

It would be a territory. It’s too tiny, population-wise.

If Denmark cannot deal with China’s efforts to take over the mineral resources and military control, let them sell Greenland to America who can. It is for their best interests.

Nice to hear from Sarah.
Liked PDJT's idea of trading Puerto Rico for Greenland.

Okay:
- the inflation adjustor equates $1 in 1867 to $17.64 today: http://www.in2013dollars.com/us/inflation/1867?amount=1
- 640 acres to a square mile
- 836,300 square miles in Greenland
In today’s dollars we paid 35.28 cents per acre.
That is $225.79 per square mile.
By my calculations that would be $188,829,849.60 in total.
Somehow I don’t think that is going to get it done!

Loved that! Love her! Thanks for the ping! :)

“It would be a territory. Its too tiny, population-wise.”
There are no standards the population needed to become a state.
Greenland’s population is 56,670 while the population of Wyoming is 577,737. Thus the population of Wyoming is roughly ten times that of Greenland.
Meanwhile, the population of California is 39,557,045 or roughly 68 times the size of Wyoming.
However, despite its small population, Wyoming is still a state.
