This is another project funded out of the Military Counter-Narcotics account, which the Supreme Court allowed last month.

Yuma has several segments going in - over 25 miles worth. About ten miles of mighty 30 footers is already done on the South side of Yuma/San Luis.

These 6-7 miles are just one of the contracts that the Supreme Court had to bust loose from a lower court injunction last month. That also freed up other contracts that are starting work now on Arizona Federal Lands (63 miles) and in Yuma (7 miles, where separate contracts are putting in about 20 more miles - 10 already done. 46 more miles in New Mexico, extending the last 20 mile segment from El Paso further to the West (past the Columbus Port of Entry).

A second run of 30 foot bollards is half done in San Diego, and construction is ongoing in Tecate and Calexico in California (soon to start in Andrade).

Damn near the whole Rio Grande Valley is going to be on contract soon (95 miles). Five contracts have already been awarded down there. A month (or more likely two) after the public comment period closes next Monday (26 Aug), the rest of those contracts should drop like rain, with construction commencing about three months later.

There are billions more (about 4) in this year’s funding which has been identified (with the emergency declaration), but not yet committed, plus whatever comes next year.

The drought on wall building is over. Next year, the deluge.

Whut? The Never Trumpers on FR kept bitching that there is NO WALL, they will never vote for Trump (again), and they felt betrayed and there will never be a wall. This is misleading..

This is a project replacing already existing old-wall. This is not new miles of wall.

This is an interesting situation. The mainstream media have painted themselves into a corner here. After constructing the narrative that "not one mile" of wall has been built, they cannot report on all this wall construction without making liars of themselves (and giving Trump a boost in the process).

So this will be the approach they will take right up until the election:

What Trump needs to do and what I'm sure he will do is run some campaign commercials showing all the wall that has been built.

Yah, great.
Bit I still sincerely believe that our having to build walls at all is all the proof ANYONE should ever need that we are in fact at WAR with Mexico.

They are an invading force looting our country through various means while also trying to take control at several levels.
They import deadly poisons by the ton, but none dare call it chemical warfare.

The “Reconquista” BS has gone unanswered for far too long.

BTW, if your company ask me top press 2 for “Spanish”, I’m hanging up and not placing an order.

EOR.

I came up with a term which I like better than wall. Border emphasis....or maybe Border upgrade. A border line for most parts in the world are imaginary lines drawn on maps and don’t have a real world counterpart unless its some natural thing like a river or other geographical line like shore or a mountain range perhaps. This barrier shows the Mexico US border is real as opposed to an imaginary line. A reality enhancement. :)
