He is part of the Mormon establishment. That is his first priority. Harry Reid, Jeff Flake, Glenn Beck, et al, and now Mike Lee. All of them are at present single issue operatives; and that single issue is the church’s sacred cow, which is open borders. The church sees the poor migrants as undocumented Mormons. They are certain that the migrants’ forebears were visited by Jesus and that the authors of the book of mormon were mixed in with a mesoamerican milieu.

Hence, the faithful have been told by the mormon powers that be that those who oppose open migration are evil. And this makes DJT evil in their book. They don’t describe it in those terms; but that is the essence of the issue with LDS politics at the national level.
