GOP wins crushing victory in 2 Special Elections (PA & SC).
PA votes ^ | 08/20/2019 | PA SOS

Remember in 2017-2018 when the media hyped every special election as a disaster for the GOP. Remember when certain Freepers would post "THE SKY IS FALLING" on every special election?

Well...

Two GOP won two state legislative special elections tonight by crushing margins:

Republican David Rowe Defeated Democrat Jennifer Rager-Kay in the 85th Legislative District in Pennsylvania by a 62.62%-37.38% Margin. This is a R+18 seat, and Rowe won by 25 points.

Republican Patrick Haddon defeated Democrat Carrie Counton 60.99% - 39.01% in South Carolina Legislative District 19. This is a R+13 seat, and Haddon won by 21 points.

While these are both GOP holds, in both of these elections, the GOP massively overperformed the partisan voting index for these seats.

The media will not even mention these wins.

Strangely enough, the MSM ignoring reality does not tend to change it...

These are not battleground districts. More registered Republicans than Democrats.

Nothing to be impressed about.

Of course, you are ignoring the margin of victory.

Both of the R candidates over performed.

“Seats flipped from R to D Pennsylvania State Senate District 37 (April 2)”

If I remember correctly that district was re-drawn in a way that almost guaranteed a D win prior to the election, and thanks to a D appointed judge.

You really are a clown. You post Analpundit drivel all day, naysay, and always act “concerned.”

There is a name for “concerned” posters like you.

The GOP over-performed the PVI in both districts. Moreover, the GOP has won seats in deep blue Connecticut this year.

Why don’t you lay out your Never-Trump agenda for all to see, or are you a coward?

I tend to view state legislatures as analogous to the AA and AAA farm system in Major League Baseball.
They are great training grounds for players who want to move up to the ‘Show’ in DC.
However, it is vitally important to rack up victories in these ‘minor league’ arenas as well

“Nothing to be impressed about.”

really? massively outperforming the registration differential isn’t impressive?

it tells me that voters are sick to death of the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia hysterical lies and propaganda and are NOT buying one iota of it ...

Excellent news (above).

By the way... is a decent Republican / Conservative running against democRAT Joe Cunningham in SC's 1st district in 2020? I still can't believe a democRAT won that district!

What does this election have to do with Trump?

And BTW, why do you focus on one or two posts from the site HOTAIR, and ignore my other posts and then on that basis conclude that I am a NeverTrumper?

BTW, is there a FR rule that tells us that posting an author’s article is disallowed?

I am an #OftenTrumper, not a #TrumpNeverDoesWrong man.

BTW, I will be impressed if a Republican wins in a TIGHT district, not a heavy R district regardless of the margin.

This particular election tells me LITTLE about the State of Pennsylvania and how it will vote in 2020, other than Heavily Republican districts will still vote Republican.
