Summer this year is hitting the island hard with record-shattering heat and extreme melt. Scientists estimate that by the end of the summer, about 440 billion tons of ice — maybe more — will have melted or calved off Greenland's giant ice sheet.
Helheim glacier, for example, has shrunk about 6 miles (10 kilometers) since scientists visited in 2005.

How charmingly ridiculous, to have a Greenland story now that Trump mentions it. You telling me that anyone gave a rat’s ass about Greenland prior to 3 days ago?
Roughly 12,900 years ago....a huge glacier sat over North America (maybe 2 miles thick over NY state), then ‘something’ occurred, and a rapid melt (not in centuries or decades, but in a matter of days and weeks). Neither the arrival of glacier period, or the end of the glacier period....have ever been explained. But one curious event came out of this....water levels rose 250 to 300 feet across the globe, and are where there are today. Whatever civilization existed....went 300 ft below the water.
Before any idiots go play the climate ‘saga’....they need to go back and explain this period, and the rapid disappearance of the glacier.
Ice will melt in the summer, form in the winter. Shocking.
As glaciers retreat, they uncover old Viking settlements, because Greenland was quite a bit warmer 1000 - 500 years ago.
Maybe that is why Trump wants to buy it- so he can hide all the evidence!
Every fall the leaves come down.

Notice how they say “begin to rise”. It implies that sea level rise is happening while not explicitly saying it is actually happening.
THe legend says it was named Greenland to divert people from the more habitable Iceland to it during the times of Leif Erickson?? During the Viking colonization period limited agricuture on Greenland did occur as that part of the world was much warmer than today.
The glaciers of Greenland are also contributing to a rise in the global sea level faster than was previously believed. Other research has shown that higher snowfalls from the North Atlantic oscillation caused the interior of the ice cap to thicken by an average of 6 cm or 2.36 in/y between 1994 and 2005.
So, on the one hand, melting glaciers are contributing to the rise in global sea levels, and on the other hand, global warming is causing the ice cap to thicken because you get higher snowfalls when the world warms up.
In other words: "Everything is proof of global warming".

Then there are the frozen mammoths found in Siberia with flowers in their mouths and stomachs. One minute you’re grazing on tasty flowers and the next you are flash frozen.
