The powers that be have made it very expensive to sue them. We are talking tens of thousands, into the hundreds of thousands, to do so. And then try to find a lawyer who is both competent in this area that wants to take the case and not bankrupt you.

Yes, that is true.
And then one likely would have to find a Republican lawyer to take the case, and a Republican lawyer that is actually capable of winning, which I think is a very tall order.

For those who believe the police force will not follow unconstitutional orders, here you have it. Height, weight, hair color, physical appearance, all did not match and they still took his firearms. The police will follow any order given to them, until they start paying a personal price for such things.

That is a given, isn’t it? No matter how repugnant their actions, they always have their defenders.

Yep. Saw a post on FB yesterday about a "certified drug enforcement officer" who violently assaulted a teen with autism. The kid was playing in the park with a string...and the cop approached...he "assessed" the kid was on drugs and when the teen didn't comply (he didn't resist - as the video shows - all he did was he didn't put the strong he was playing with down and he started getting agitated - which people with autism can do) he tackled him and broke his ankle - which required surgery.
Well - all the mom wanted was an apology from the city and the department and some training....which I thought was WAY beyond reasonable. They wouldn't even give her the time of day. So, she sued.
You would not BELIEVE the comments on FB (from people on the right - because I looked at their profiles and they were mostly MAGA people) telling her to just deal with it...shut up...you name it. It was embarassing.

I wonder if the deputies did this to sabotage the red flag laws.
