Why Trump’s Approval Ratings Are Up Among Minorities

Polls increasingly show they have improved dramatically in key voter blocs.

mounting number of voter polls show that, despite shrill denunciations of the President by the Democrats for his alleged racism, Trump is enjoying a dramatic increase in his approval ratings among minorities. This isn’t, as some liberal news outlets and pundits have suggested, wishful thinking based on outlier polls. The trend began showing up in surveys early this year and appears to be gaining momentum. Some polls now show his approval numbers at 25 percent among African-American voters and 50 percent among Hispanic voters. If those figures hold for the next 15 months, they will render Trump unbeatable in November of 2020.

If this claim seems over the top, it should be remembered that Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 despite garnering only about 8 percent of the black vote and 29 percent of the Hispanic vote. Put another way, Clinton lost the election despite winning nearly 90 percent of the African-American vote and two-thirds of the Hispanic vote. In other words, they simply can’t beat the President if he holds them to significantly lower percentages of these key voting blocs. The Democrats and their media enablers understand this, of course, which is why they have worked so diligently to discredit polls that confirm the president’s gains among minority voters.

This began in earnest when, in January of this year, Marist found that Trump’s approval rating among Hispanics had reached 50 percent. Then, in February, a Morning Consult poll showed Hispanic approval of the President at 45 percent. This was followed by a March poll from McLaughlin & Associates that found Hispanic approval for the President at 50 percent. All three polls were discounted as outliers by the media or simply ignored. This continued in June, after Harvard Harris..

Minoritie?

Of course, the letter ‘s’ is missing from the end of that word. Or maybe it’s the Old Europe spelling, to use Donald Rumsfeld’s phrase. (Where has he been, by the way?)

Either way, it’s good news.

Don’t underestimate Trump’s decision to grant clemency to that woman who did 21 years for drug possession in all this.

Democrats talk about doing something to correct injustices. Trump actually DID something.

Personally I had no issue with it. People routinely serve 1/3 that amount of time for killing someone. 21 years was more than enough punishment for her offense.

<< approval numbers at 25 percent among African-American voters and 50 percent among Hispanic voters. >>

If those percentages are even close to accurate, the Dems don’t have a prayer in 2020. I’d guess that the numbers are attributable to 1) record low unemployment numbers for both groups; 2) Trump’s strong stance on border security; 3) the fact that Trump doesn’t shamelessly and insultingly pander to them, which they no doubt find refreshing.

Yes, but does voter approval translate into voter preference?

The Democrats are well aware of this trend and this is why their cries of "Trump is a racist" are reaching hysterical levels. They well know that if Trump can bring a sizable number of Blacks and Hispanics into his camp, that his re-election will be assured. Further, a Trump second term will likely be so beneficial to these people that it might be decades before the Democrats can win them back.

If the Democrats cannot separate these people from Trump before Election Day, it is all over for them. So expect even more shrill and desperate cries of "racism" in the months ahead.

Also, the overall approval polls we keep seeing are utter crap. Even if Trump got to a 60% approval rating, the MSM would never report it and instead come up with a polling method that understates the true Trump support levels.

Plenty of silent Trump supporters out there.

Most people just don’t want the headaches of some Dem Congressman doxxing them or of Antifa keying their car.

This is why I think the dems need to run a minority candidate, they need to boost turnout of the identity politics voters like Obama did. The ones that will turnout simply because they identify with a non-white candidate and stayed home for an obviously corrupt fat old white woman. Except Booker and Harris seem like unlikable elitists with baggage, at least so far.

Regarding the hispanic vote, It depends on where the hispanic support is.

If he gets 50% of the hispanic vote in Wyoming it won't have near the impact if he only gets 29% in kalifornia electorally.

IMO that is why the dims are trying to flip Texas, a big electoral vote win. They could care less about the flyover states.

~~~
That would be a big mistake, if my theory is true.
I believe the reason so many minorities may be fleeing the democrat plantation is because the MSM cried wolf about racism too hard and for too long during the election, and those who fell for it were made to imagine it was the start of the fourth reich and chaos would ensue. When the opposite happened, it was eye opening.
A lot of minorities, just like everyone else, are still suck consuming the slant that comes from the nightly news and the radical pundits in the MSM, but on the other hand, a lot of have decided there is more information to be had. Another perspective to take.
Crying wolf even harder is not going to help the MSM win these people back. It only threatens to galvanize their perspective.
Just shows Americans can tell the difference between the president’s actions and the constant BS coming from the biased media.
<< The Democrats are well aware of this trend and this is why their cries of “Trump is a racist” are reaching hysterical levels >>
But what they’re unaware of is that the more hysterically they cry “racism”, the more likely it is that their target audience sees them as full of shit.
...the fact that Trump doesn’t shamelessly and insultingly pander to them, which they no doubt find refreshing.
I think the power of this is underestimated. When you listen to Trump at his rallies, he unabashedly talks about the values that all real Americans share - pride in country, the ability of everybody to succeed, a growing economy, God, family, creating a vibrant land we want to live in, military, veterans, and police. I don't think I've ever heard him pander once to any balkanized group.
This is indeed very refreshing not just for minorities, but for all Americans, especially those of us who have been yearning for this for over 35 years.
Regarding the hispanic vote, It depends on where the hispanic support is.
California is a lost cause but if Trump increases his Hispanic support, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada are winnable in 2020. That's 20 more EVs.
