Gee, who didn’t see this coming up the road?
There will be many of these and the solution to this new problem will be red-flag SWAT raids and even more will die as RedFlag becomes the primary activity of police departments. I expect that many of us will die in one way “shoot-outs.”
Man! Good thing the guy was white. If not the Stormtroopers might be in big trouble!
It’s open season on Caucasians under red flag rules. We’re not quite at The Purge scenario but it’s coming.

Why answer the door with a drawn weapon unless you live in the middle of acreage and don’t recognize the bell ringer? Furthermore, if it’s law enforcement, you talk to them through the door. Plenty of jurisprudence backs law enforcement tactics to draw people out of their homes. They’re not going to SWAT a home because the person refuses to open the door. They’ll just wait to grab them the next time they’re in public.
They will now say “See? He WAS a danger.”
No facing your accusers, just bang on the door at 5:15.

It's here. There's a compliant media. They won't discuss this in any way. No one discussed the camps in Germany, but everyone kind of suspected it was going on. Don't expect an outcry when white Christian men are killed because they refuse to comply with an unlawful order to disarm.

In retrospect, I understand the gravity of the situation portrayed, but at what point would you say, “you’re not taking them. Have a nice day” and be done with it? Problem is, law enforcement seldom just leaves at that.

Alert them about what? That he was a gun owner? This is going to go bad, very quickly if these Red Flag “Laws” are enacted and attempted to be enforced. Someone had better explain the Second Amendment to these government tools.
I think you are missing the point Irish, there is something called the Second Amendment. Police cannot simply take your guns because “someone” makes an accusation!

Problem, of course, is that you shouldn’t do it while the cops are already on your doorstep.

I missed no point whatsoever; the man was not killed because of the Second Amendment, he was killed because he was stupid and engaged in gun play against superior fire power...further, you don’t know who the ‘someone’ was; it could have been a neighbor whom this dimwit threatened with the firearm; you do that, and I guarantee you’ll be seeing the cops at your door, SA notwithstanding; lastly, upon relinquishing the firearm, should the complaint be deemed frivolous, the gun would be returned, or at the end of the ordered time, the gun would be returned...by law, it will not be a permanent confiscation, if all the i’s are dotted and the t’s crossed...
does this mean that red flag laws will not be exercised unreasonably, and that excessive vigor by the authorities will not occur, and that frivoulous complaints by jilted lovers and such will not be acted upon...? we of course know the answer to that; trouble is, you guys are choosing the wrong hill to die on with this case...when we get a story of cops beating or shooting a guy who’s just arguing with them, then is the time for outrage...
