Embarrassing. They are not Americans, never were, and likely never will be. What are they suggesting, we annex them? Do they think singing our anthem will obligate us to be involved in an internal Chinese matter? Or give them asylum when China rightfully exercises control over its sovereign territory? Don’t get me wrong, nice to see them having more respect for America than many of our athletes, but still...
It could have been organized by the ChiComs to give the impression that the US is organizing the protests.
Tieneman I people built a Statue of Liberty. Interesting that this is so abhorrent to some here.
Geesh, you don't get it.

Okay, you finally get it.
Boy you never came across to me as a miserable #### :)
Maybe you’re just having a bad night.
But I don’t think so man.
That was a post by one of the most miserable human beings around that I have read in a while :)
Kinda shocked.
Oh well.
You don’t get it. I haven’t seen any of these protestors asking for America to invade/annex/obligate us to them. They see us as a beacon, a standard for liberty and freedom. That’s why they are singing the National Anthem. Contrast that with Colin Kapernick and the soccer woman. They see us as a standard of oppression, hence their disrespect of our National Anthem. I don’t understand why anyone on this forum would feel negatively towards these Hong Kong protestors. We should be celebrating their push for liberty, not castigating it.
