Turns out, some lefties do lose their jobs over blackface incidents. Sure, they’re not politicians -- the media/Democrats don’t give up power that easily. But it’s still kind of fun to see cracks in the not-as-I-do hypocrisy that protects liberals from having to live by their own ever-changing rules.
Comic and progressive zealot Sarah Silverman “was recently fired from a film after producers unearthed a still of her in 2007 wearing blackface for a comedy sketch.,” reported the Guardian August 12. Silverman related the story on the The Bill Simmons Podcast, saying that, “at 11pm the night before” she was to start shooting, “they fired me because they saw a picture of me in blackface” from a 2007 episode of the Sarah Silverman Show.
Her confusion and hurt at this turn of events seems genuine. “I think it’s really scary and it’s a very odd thing that it’s invaded the left primarily and the right will mimic it.” Maybe, but the constant howl of outrage -- “righteousness porn,” Silverman called it -- is a defining characteristic of the modern left. Silverman seems to be just waking up to it:
“It’s like, if you’re not on board, if you say the wrong thing, if you had a tweet once, everyone is, like, throwing the first stone,” she continued. “It’s so odd. It’s a perversion. It’s really, ‘Look how righteous I am and now I’m going to press refresh all day long to see how many likes I get in my righteousness.’”
Hm. Hey Sarah, sucks, doesn’t it? But this is the world you and your pals have made. Actors are bigots for wearing common ....

She may be forgiven, but she will have to do penance. A few months of grandstanding her ethnic self-loathing and debasement, followed by a change in sexual orientation might be sufficient. She’d better get started soon, though, since the price of atonement continues to rise.

Well in their ‘defense??’(tongue in cheek), the Virginia LIBs were ready to toss the Gov & AG for ‘black face crimes’ and the LTGOV for ‘sexual misconduct’ and the Rs were just shutting up and letting them go

Some ‘smart arse’ pointed out that the top 3 posts would be replaced with Rs and the inquisition/scourge was discontinued.
I am sure Bloomberg, Soros & Co had some say in this.
