15USC1244 maybe- remember, fedlaw only pertains to interstate or fed property, so your state laws are where you need to look for details. Some states are rather strict ( NYS, for instance, if you or anyone can flick open your knife with one hand, then it is a felony crime....) Here in MO, pretty much anything goes, espc if one has a CCWL.

One time my Aunt and I were having a beer with Grandma at the Eagles club. Grandma was rightfully bagging on pot and “paraphernalia” and how it was fully justified to arrest for paraphernalia. But the point we were explaining was that if they wanted to they could nail “anyone” for that. We had her dump out her purse and found at least 6 items that could have been deemed as drug paraphernalia. Bobby pins that could be used as roach clips etc.

Then we went into what she might have in her car including the toolbox Grandpa would not be caught without. Codified laws need to stop being “flexible” in interpretation at the very moment of interaction and detainment. “Codified” is supposed to indicate strict legal guidelines without “freestyle perspectives”. It either is or is not, there is absolutely no room for “speculation” or “personal interpretation”.

There is absolutely no “Gray area”, yet we have as a society have accepted this as normal. Huge mistake that needs to be corrected with mass resistance.

It’s nearly enough to make me buy a MAGA hat. I know a number of people who would wear them, just to look for trouble makers.

‘This was a non-event’ — Police wrap up investigation of Gannett building after report of man with weapon

So, basically some guy - who worked in a business in the building separate from Gannet - was seen with a weapon (holstered pistol?), and the Gannet employees freaked out.

In a Liberal establishment a man with a weapon means they have a brain that functions normally

To a normal, law abiding person like yourself, a knife with a three inch blade is a tool. That same knife is in the hands of a rampaging, wild eyed, muslim yelling allah akbar, what would you call it then?
I guess it depends on who is holding the knife and what purpose it is used for.
