President Donald Trump overruled the adamant objections of nearly his entire trade team when he ordered the imposition of 10% tariffs on China's remaining $300 billion of exports to the United States, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.
Trump, in his decision announced on Twitter Thursday, said China has not made good on a promise to buy American agricultural goods in large quantities, and as a consequence the U.S. would impose new tariffs starting Sept. 1.

There is a HUGE segment of leadership in this country, which is on the WRONG SIDE.
For the first time in three decades, you stood for AMERICA.
Well done, Sir.
For real.
DONALDUS MAGNUS lives!
With one significant exception:
“Only Peter Navarro, a China hawk, did not object.”
:)
Peter Navarro is a national treasure.
And the Yuan tanks... and another bit of good news...

I think the CCP may have to invade and take all the dollars in HK...
And, he is all class.
Unless you’re nuts or a traitor, you’ve got to love this President if you’re an American. First we take care of China, Iran, the situation on the border, then it’ll be time for the nuts and traitors. If I counted correctly, that’s four winnings - winning, winning, winning, winning. Not tired of it yet. Go, go, go, PDJT!
Says what he means!!!Bravo Mr.President Stand your position.
Good.
Tell China that he's setting a deadline of 3 years, and if we don't have a deal that both sides are in 100% compliance by then, we won't be trading with China, we won't be importing any products with parts made in China, and we won't be respecting the intellectual property of any China based company.
It doesn't matter where we buy our products, but it does matter to China that we buy from them. Giving all those companies a 3 year window to move to another country will motivate them to come to the table.
I wish I had seen that.
An unbiased reporter would have said, "Only Trump's Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, Peter Navarro, did not object". Apparently the WSJ only cares about what position someone holds when they believe it lends weight their own editorial point of view.
Now my winter pajamas in Walmart are going to cost $3.00 more than last year!!! The multi-millionaires in the Chamber of Commerce are going to have a fit!!
Tell ya what...when youre President you can make that call
“Tell China that he’s setting a deadline of 3 years”
Why only 3 years? Give them until 2025, that will show them we really mean business! /s
1) To let the companies with factories in China have time to relocate
2) Give Trump a chance to appoint a different Fed Chairman.
For the first time in three decades, you stood for AMERICA.
You continue to be the jerk who thinks hasn’t done anything right with China, at least, until today.
Time and time again, YOUVE FAILED to see hes been doing what you want, each step of the freaking way.
The role of advisers is to advise. But at the end of the day it’s up to the president to decide whether or not to take that advice.
I was being sarcastic. Now is the exact time to do it as our economy is relatively strong and the Chicoms are weak now. I don’t care much about companies that sold out to the Chicoms. I hope it hurts them enough that other companies think twice before doing the same.
