This list shows HEB as #13 - but interesting is that several on the list are food companies. But on that list, I am sure several are "private" but not "family owned" rather owned by large investment groups.So maybe HEB is at or near the top of family controlled private companies.
And FWIW, I knew what HEB was - I spent some time in the Austin area (Georgetown) and I have been in their markets, I just couldn't resist making a stupid (and probably old) joke.
Strange that they went with the initials instead of just calling it “Butt Foods”.
Used to buy $1.50 six-packs of generic beer (Pearl Light) there, back in the day when the AF base still existed.
I was at an HEB a few months ago while visiting family. Milk was $1.26 a gallon! (It’s around $4 a gallon, here in Oklahoma).
“Not seriously hurt” is NOT the same as “serious bodily injury” for purposes of the mandatory life sentence for kidnapping. I hope the perp gets that.
