I have intimate experience working with Capital One, having a been a consultant to them for 2 years, doing a quite a few conversions during that time...
I can 100% say their IT operation was extremely tough to work with...not for the standards and tight controls but from the constantly changing standards, nonsensical change control procedures and overall cover your ass management...
I worked on a 3 man team, since I was the newest person on the team I got all the crap jobs to do, Capital One was a job no one else wanted, I took it on gladly and after two years I was near exhaustion....
I started in the Computer Industry in 1981 and will tell you that a majority of the people in this industry especially those under 40 are super liberal and this type of hack will happen more frequently because someone has to have Admin or Super User access, if that person is a ANTIFA person or similar and they hate Bank, Wall Street, etc....then they will think it’s cool for ONE person to bring huge problems to the company they work for....
