A free person cannot walk anywhere in NYC without being filmed by a security camera - either the cameras run by the NYPD attached to lamp posts and traffic lights, or security cameras in front of shops and apartments.
And yet for some reason prison cells or even prison hallways don’t have video?

Wouldn’t there be cameras everywhere in prisons? I find it hard to believe that jail cells are free from security cameras - goodness knows they’re everywhere else.
